Anything's possible, but I'd guess that choosing to pay Danny Amendola 5 yrs at 31 million dollars would probably put him in line to be Wes Welker's replacement.

It's good to see the possibilities with UDFA's though, but I'm not holding my breath either. We've seen great play from WR's in TC/preseason only to be cut immediately after.

I'm assuming that Moe will be placed on the practice squad.

The more I read up on T.J. Moe the more I want him to stick... and become a star.

How about Boyce!? He's right there in everything.

I'm jumping the gun a bit but this WR group is making me super excited. Imagine this BB hitting on the draft in consecutive years.

2010 TE - Gronk & AH
2011 RB - Ridley & Vereen
2012 OLB/DE - CJ & Hightower
2013 WR - Dobs, Boyce & Moe

To add to the satisfaction, we apparently stole Boyce from Miami. Of course Miami will deny it just like how we denied ever wanting Harvin.

I'm not there yet, but I love the way they approached the position in the draft. WR is the hardest position to project from college to the NFL, and "Tom Brady WR" is the hardest position to project, period. What's more, they don't just need a receiver, they need to rebuild their receiving corps for the long run. Bringing in 3 smart, productive, hard-working, athletic prospects to prove themselves makes sense.

I couldn't help notice that Jamie Collins out leaped ALL of the WR's in the vertical jump in the combine.

it makes my day when i read the article of how we took Boyce from Miami........

Yep, the only big guy I can think of who has compared to Collins in leaping ability is Vernon Davis.

Tomkins seems like he is pretty smart too. This will be the most interesting position to watch in camp due to the makeover.

Not to sidetrack the thread. But yeah Collins is a freak. Check out these images:

The real question is how will all these numbers we look at translate to the football field. Athleticism always helps but it has to be paired with execution and football intelligence (which is different from academic intelligence).

I like the variety of guys the Pats brought in to attack the WR issue. Clearly the Pats are focusing on getting tougher and more physical to avoid the 'postseason shutdown syndrome' that their offense has suffered for the past 6 years now.

Perhaps we can utilize him in the red zone as an LB receiver like Vrabel.

just to add to the TJ Moe buzz, how about this catch at the combine:

Gary Guyton was also a great athlete

Just saying I won't be surprised when he beats Donald Jones out.

Amendola
Dobson
Edelman
Boyce
Moe

Gary guyton couldnt tackle for beans......

People are underestimating Donald Jones. He's a really solid football player. He should make the team. He has a lot of skills, has good YAC and is a very tough kid. Provided that he's healthy, I don't think he's the kind of athlete we want to cut.

I agree completely, but if a UDFA outplays him up to season start I'll b happier bc it'll mean they did damn good
