Who the hell is Calvin Munson?

oh yea... 19-0

One spot is supposedly reserved for Cyrus Jones, but that's a lot of turnover on the ps.

They already had a spot open.
They added Calvin Munson- LB.. If i remember, he was someone that looked really promising when we played the Giants..

By my count, the Pats still have 2 PS spots open..

The next Deontae Skinner.

Actually, he should be better than Skinner since Munson already has some good NFL experience.

And let's just remember how well (sic) the Giants are doing before we talk about the fact that they cut him despite the decent numbers he put up last season.

They still have one left. Cyrus Jones was runored to be destined for it but he was claimed by Baltimore.

Mike Reiss just tweeted a good amount of WR workouts, none of whom with which I am familiar, so perhaps one will take the place of the departed Coleman and Billingsley.

I'm happy about Barner - looked purty gud

LB Calvin Munson has a decent stat line for one year as a UDFA, 60 CB tackles, 2 sacks. Funny, I was thinking about LBs as I opened the site.

I heard they just signed the guy from the parking lot.

55 tackles (35S/20A). 2 Sacks. 1 FF.
Played on STs (209 snaps) as well as starting 5 of 14 games (388 snaps). Played both OLB and MLB for the Giants.

He was one of the guys that I thought that BB might bring in right at the start of the season for the PS.

He really stood out in the Preseason game against the Pats.

This Patriots PS revolving circus is getting ridiculous. They are telling us that better players are there to be add?? I liked both Webb and VV. That Defense ain't getting fixed via the Taxi squad good Teams will exploit them... Great Teams will destroy them. The Chiefs are a Great Team.

Let's do some simple math:

Average NFL career: 3.3 years
NFL Draft: 7 rounds
Total NFL squad including practice squad: 63

If you drafted with 100% success, that would fill 36.7% of your roster.
If you drafted with 100% success and all players became starters (removing the practice squad) that would amount to 40% of your roster.

The above are ridiculous assumptions.

The reality is no team drafts as high as 50% success including practice squad players.

Best case scenario 18.4% of your roster comes from the draft.

You CANNOT mathematically build your team from the draft.

81.6% of your team must come from other sources.
Do you think Ernie hasn't crunched these numbers?

This is why Belichick refers to draft players as "Freebies".
This is why BB is constantly jacking the bottom of the roster.
Add in injuries and player depth is why the Pats are consistently successful.

This is why Robert Kraft, a man much richer, smarter, and plugged in than myself refers to "Managing team depth."

In conclusion:
The next time someone on the board whines about constantly messing with the bottom of the roster, do the math for yourself.

@goheels22002

Looks like they worked out your binky TE again, Winman (think that’s his name). Maybe he’ll get invited to the PS? Figured that I’d pass the news along in case you missed it, yesterday.
