Pats claim WR Michael Floyd

He's a very talented player so having him here will be exciting. That said, he was mostly just bad this season and then got hit with that DUI. Still, I'd rather have Mike Floyd as my WR4 than Griff Whelan seven days a week and twice on Sunday.

Awesome. He'll have the playbook down by the playoffs. At the very least, he gives them a big body in the red zone. I like it.

is he not going to be suspended for DUI arrest ? what gives?

As Bedard mentioned, the league only does any suspension after the charges are adjudicated..

Literally no downside to this. We have some leaders in the locker room so I don't think Floyd will destroy it in a few games. Regardless, if he doesn't perform he's gone. If he performs, well great! Another weapon for us.

Still have to say that I'm surprised he passed by the Eagles and the Rams.

I wanted the Pats to draft him! I am glad we got him!
He will probably not be a factor this year since he is new and will have to learn our system and not sure how fast he can learn things, but he makes it through the OTA with us I expect to see great things from him next year with a healthy Brady and supporting cast.
The question at that point will be if he gonna take over the Mitchell role and become a number 2/3 receiver.

I do hope Mitchell keeps improving since he has more upside than Floyd and room for growth.

We have Hogan for deep threat and he has been good for us all year long, I don't mind another deep threat like Floyd, but having too many of them may make us one dimensional.

Anyways this was a good pick up, I hope he does well here and if he doesn't then his career might as well be over.

Always good to add height to the current LollyPop Guild...

I like it...

Solid depth given DA's sprain...

The GOAT will get the most out of him like he has with everyone else...

Only risk here is cap space. If he doesn't fit, he will be gone pretty fast.

He better not be suspended just because he joined the pats. Nice move

Floyd is more of an intermediate threat along to lines of David Givens. And I think that's a good thing..

If you consider this as an alternative to Whalen, probably a nice upgrade.
The guy has a ton of drops, which is a huge concern. That doesn't play well with this quarterback (at least for newer receivers).

So maybe Foster is active and returns punts. Maybe you just tell Julian to raise both hands over his head before the ball is punted.

And the Patriots end with a little bit more depth in the post-season.

Time for me to catch up a bit on him via Youtube and Gamepass..

The thing that stands out to me here: RED ZONE OFFENSE.

In my opinion, that is the Patriots biggest weakness and has shown to be a potential achilles heal against certain opponents. The reason is simple: they just don't have a lot of height and size to win on-on-one balls. With Gronkowski and Bennett, that was enough, but without Gronkowski, Bennett is the only guy there who is big and tall enough to win one on one matchups, and if he is hobbled they are in big trouble, as all of their other guys are going to need to break tackles to get in. The rest of the receivers are short/quick players (Edelman, Mitchell, Amendola, Lewis, White) besides Chris Hogan. Hogan has decent size and good strength as well, but he's a separation/speed guy who isn't really going to box out and use his strength to get in the end zone.

I think this is the reason for the move, at least to experiment.

Not sure I want to see him cost snaps for Hogan or Mitchell, but I'd love to see him take snaps from Julian for health reasons.

we were the only team to put a claim on him
