Pats claim Garrett Mills

What, we signed Chuck Norris

Damn, Belichick really is laying it all on the line this year.

This is proof positive of the switch to a 4-3 base, because Chuck Norris plays front four.

lolzer, no chance he makes the roster right?

could he possibly be fed up w. Smith and Yeatmen and went w/ the now older Mills that he had confidence in prior to him being stolen from us on waivers?

really? 6 years in the nfl, 110 yards. Come on now.

You know it's one dull day in the NFL when news of Garrett freaking Mills getting signed involves 40+ posts and 1,000+ looks

Yeah but Garrett Mills was no Adam Seward. He got 50,000 views a weekend. Surely to be inducted to the Patsfans Hall of fame one day.

Quick, someone get down to the pro shop to see if this is true.

no I haven't and I cannot even picture the guy. I don't even know his height/weight and didn't know if he was a blocking TE or not?
How long you been following this team? You never heard of Dave Thomas or Garrett Mills?

not all waived players are useless scrubs. Larsen and Mack-z just to name 2 of ours are and have been playing well @ TB.

that is for the guy that called me out^
This is illogical. Poster said that players waived by other teams are not likely to make the Pats 53 (meaning our roster is very good), and you rebut by saying that the Pats roster is so good that players we waive are good enough to be claimed by other teams.

That's not a rebuttal of what the poster said. It's a validation.

Lots of players the Pats cut on cut-down day are claimed. The Pats claim very few, and they don't generally stick.

Anyway, I think the thread title is wrong and that Mills was not claimed on waivers. He was signed as a free agent.

wtf is going on?

4 TE set or what?

Am I wrong, or did BB plan on using Mills at fullback... or was it that other TE they signed that year... gosh, what's his name again??? Tom Davis ??
Anyway... another backfielder perhaps?

I think we should use him as a pass catching FB out of the backfield. He's only 6'1 and can probably block as well. Can use him like another Heath Evans, Patrick Pass or Marc Edwards type.

How long have you been following the Patriots closely?

TC wise... not much. It wasn't until the draft and watching college games of the 2010 season that I fully became immersed . I predicted the Hernandez 4 and Mesko 5 picks when I was on the clock.

Ever since I started watching College football on a regular weekly basis on (3 or more games on a given week). I also began reading up on college football. The Draft and TC reports are much more fun to watch and read about now b/c of my greater understanding of college football. It is an aspect I found late, but I enjoy this (new to me) college football atmosphere

I watch w/e college game I can now. Normally I view many halves of games and flip around looking for the most interesting 1. Flip during commercials etc. Given me flipping channels frequently I see many of the teams that play on National TV

it is almost like a prequel and a sequel to a movie . (College Sports, My Pro Team and the DRAFT) I enjoy it

Still kind of a head scratcher. As many cuts that have to be made and the depth that will have to be decided upon at WR and Dline, I just can't see a spot being left for Mills on the 53. I would call this due dilligence or maybe BB was very impressed with Mills work ethic while he was here and wants to show some of the young guys how a player should prepare to play?

Makes sense that you weren't following the Pats when they drafted Garrett Mills.

Just Curious... How old are you Solder?

ironic coming from a guy with a signature 15 lines long. I mostly browse here on a iPhone, and it takes more precious screen space than most posts. Since we're on topic, could you please consider shortening it? Thanks.

BTW, there are addons for browsers, like "adblock" (I think that's the one that does it, but not 100% sure), that allow you to block specific images and prevent them from ever being displayed again. That's what I did with chuck Norris on my computer at work.
Not ironic if no one ever mentioned it was an issue

25 in November. I never had a favorite team for D1 Football. The closest 1 was w/ (Hernanebow)the Final 2 years of that team were fun. My dad watches a lot of NCAA football so I finally bought in. It is very good competition. It took me awhile to appreciate it.

Meyer & Saban are the top 2 coaches in recent time in my book. I am a fan of both coaches. Les Miles is horrible w/ timeouts eh? LSU looks to be a Juggernaut this year if their QB performs well, but that is a big (?).

OK... Mills is going to announce his retirement, and he wants to go out with the great organization that drafted him.... after BB spends 25 minutes picking his brain.
