Daily news threads with relevant news, stories, video, or additional content around the team. Feel free to contribute anything interesting you come across as well, which will hopefully make these helpful for people to keep up with what's going on with the team by having all the news in one place.

You will have my answer after the game.
Our offensive line could play well and they could still lose.

The starters are starting, despite all the whining... only it's against a defensive front that set a historic amount of sacks last year.

The Eagles can make any O-Line in the league look silly. Let's makes sure we grade our's on a curve.

Yes, our starters are able to walk and go through light practice.

And, yes, we have a college guard playing OT.

The other backups would not be picked up on waivers. We need to pick two rejects off the streets who would likely not make other rosters. Of course, WE couldn't allow them to be on the PS. We are so needy that we needed both on the 53 so they could compete for the 4th OT spot.
==================
So, NO, I don't think that the concern was unreasonable.

Look at all the good that had to happen.
1) Strange has to recover from his mystery illness.
2) Onwenu needed to recover (we thought that he might start on PUP)
3) Anderson needed to recover (we thought he might begin on NFI)
4) Brown had to be willing and able to be our starting LT.
5) Sow had to develop FAST at OT.
6) Andrews needed to get to be good enough to be a backup.
7) Mafi needed to be worthy of the roster (when drafted, that was iffy)
8) Even Reiff being available in only three weeks is a major plus, since he can backup at RG and RT (better than Wheatley)

BOTTOM LINE
We have an NFL quality line to suit up for Game 1.

David Andrews, the only NON-question must have wondered a lot about who he would be playing with for Game One.
This ^ is a lot of words.

They've brought back 4 of 5 starters, now have talented players to play RT and talented backups across the line who got a lot of snaps in the preseason.

I really like this line if healthy.

This could be a very scary DL to warm up on.
Is it necessary for poster here to state this multiple times in every week 1 thread? We get it. Eagles DL is very good and the Pats OL has some significant question marks.

It also should be a lesson for sports reporters. Ask Bill a football question and get an expansive, informative answer and everyone's better off for your having asked. Ask Bill a a hot take or gotcha question and get a snort, a grunt, and a death stare and you've wasted your moment in the spotlight.
Yeah, a great question asked by the great… Ben Volin… 2 years ago. His first and last football question ever.

The Zapper must really stink for that paltry amount.

My media moles tell me that apparently Jack wasn't aware that having two loaded guns in his waist band would likely draw a penalty.

He got in Peligrino's face and told him it wasn't an MFing penalty if he "doesn't know how they got there".

Got to like this kid's moxie.

I'd settle for an average performance vs a top pass rushing team. No need to expect to be "great" Week 1
None of us can judge this team in any way without seeing them play. The Eagles are one of the best teams so expecting a win might not be the right approach.

How else are they going to be able to say "I told you so," on the off chance the game actually plays out like they think.

No, but hoping for signs of life compared to last year doesn't seem like too much to ask.

The two Bills are phucking locked in. Impressive how well they’re working together. BOB runs thd offensive show. Only 99% of the time, though.

amazing response!!!

helps address the question i had awhile ago about why not find someone who can punt and kick, and save a roster spot.. but seems coaches feel you cant afford to split your time between the 2 crafts

if a player ever manages to be both an elite kicker and punter, id imagine they would pay him a combination of the highest kicker and punter for a salary, because just the extra roster spot alone would be invaluable
