I think the Pats have the horses to hold Philly to 20-24 points or so. The question then becomes if the Pats can produce more points than that themselves. Philly’s defense isn’t too frightening once you look past the defensive line. If they can mitigate that mismatch, maybe they can get something going.

Likely to match or preempt offers from other teams.
Yeah I just don’t see the value there. Aren’t they injured… or should be? It’s peanuts anyway.

Vets that other teams like to pinch for when injuries happen so it convinces them to sign with our PS. If JJ is going to hold out we need Monty as RB3. Maybe Harris, but I expect Monty.

If they're called up on game day, these numbers are irrelevant.

Or is it a preemptive strike to discourage teams from signing Ferentz?

Please throw WR screens. That would be an amazing choice, Eagles.

If they do and I were Bill, I'd be looking very carefully at possible OPI violations and getting in the side judge's ears if I see any.

Parker is most concerning from the Injury Report. It sounds like he hasn't been able to practice for a while.
Brown, Strange, Onwenu should be fine. BB is being obvious with the report status. But I hope the 3 of them are ready to actually play.
They've hardly practiced during TC, and only Brown played a few snaps in preseason.
This could be a very scary DL to warm up on.

Volin’s tweet is at best misleading. $12k per week is not the “minimum”. It’s actually the maximum the Pats or any other team can pay a practice squad player with less than 2 accrued seasons of experience which is the case for Zappe and 12 other players on the Pats current PS.

For players with 2 years of experience, there is a minimum ($16,100 per week) and a maximum ($20,600/week).

The Patriots have their deal with Ferentz and have for years. It has served them well providing an additional level of depth at a specialized position where experience is as important as athletic skill to them.

I expect Montgomery and Munson to be the standard elevations for the Eagles’ game and the next two games until spots on the 53 open up for them both. Thus, their practice squad salaries are kind of irrelevant as they’ll be paid their active veteran minimum salaries when elevated rather than their practice squad salaries.

A NFL minimum vet salary is about $65k a game. So $20k a week on the PS is a bargain. Doubtful any team will poach them and put them on their 53.
