I agree. All this money in the end will ruin sports, or at least ruin the sports many of us older fans grew up around. There is no loyalty on either side. It still sickens me to watch players after losing a game all smiles talking with to the players that just kicked their butts. To me that shows no loyalty to the man you just went to battle with …
Yes, I also agree. What's happening is college players being that they are so in tuned with the NFL they are taught the NFL is a business so they have to look at themselves as a such. Pretty much independent Contractor. The way 1st round QBs rookie salaries are structured they feel hey if I stay in school get my degree I can make more money than going in the draft after 2 years. But the real money is the 2nd Contract for guys. But your absolutely correct, no loyalty on either side.

That's the difference between this generation of players and others.. the NIL money has given players options.. there is no guarantee a 1st round QB will pan out as we've seen time and time again in the league. Your right though it's all about getting the second contract for QBs.. that is where the generational wealth is.
Look at what marginal QBs make in this league. It's an enormous amount. When Mac Jones is hopefully shunted aside here in New England, his next contract is not going to be for $50m a year. But it will be for $20m a year.

This blows away by a factor of 5x anything near the highest amount of NIL money given to a college football player.

There’s been a few players that went back to college for “ free” one more year so they could go try to win a national championship with their team mates. So the 4 million ( which to some degree is ridiculous) is a good starter home
These are players who determined they weren't ready to come out.

Agreed! That's why I was saying they need to realize the generational wealth in going to the NFL playing themselves into that 2nd contract. In the case of Mac.. it's still up in the air. The team has no adequate QB on the roster behind him. So having Mac right now is to thier advantage. He's Making peanuts on his rookie deal. Even if they do pick up his options they still have plenty of time to decide. So Daniel jones played himself into 40 million he got paid and reverted back to what he was.

If we resign Mac and keep the band together I’m done as a fan.
It’s one thing to not be the best team it’s another to make terrible decision after awful decisions.

They are asking for the fans to walk at that point.
Maybe I’ll actually learn about my wife.

“Self-inflicted wounds in building a team.”

Et tu Reiss?

About time... Mike has been shilling for Billy for far too long.

Other notes:

2-4) Penalties & turnovers are begotten from lack of Leadership.

Dorothy Parker = Sidney Wicks; JuJuSanu = Curtis Rowe.

B/B- for Corky is Way too generous Mikey; try a C/C- instead... Yeah his OL & WRs suck, but he sucks too.

Without Judon, "Captain"(snicker) Dee Wise & Josh Uche both suck.

I was in favor of Jalen Mills being given more playing time; but damn he sucked too.

Malik Cunnyham: practice squad talent; waste of ****ing money by Billy & Al Groh's kid, BOTH of whom should be Fired Immediately.

Marty McPoo: Over-drafted by TWO ****ING ROUNDS.

Yea. It can't be that far off. I wouldn't be surprised if JK handles all the day to day and the RK just deals with the big decisions. Kinda like a chairman.

I've wondered what Jonathan really thinks about this past year-1/2...

I use Tua as a comp to Mac. Miami instead of giving Tua bad coaching and surrounding him with JAGS they invested in. Him and gave him all pros at the WR position. Tua himself is an all pro now and in considerat for MVP.. the patriots won't every do that becuase they don't believe in Mac. It's about less what teams say and more about what the do. Will we ever learn about the wives.. lol

Let's do the math:
NFL Year1: $10m > NIL $4m
NFL2: $10m > NFL1 $10m
NFL3: $10m > NFL2 $10m
NFL4: $10m > NFL3 $10m
NFL5: $50m > NFL4 $10m

5 year totals:
$90m > $44m

A player that does this sort of thing can cost himself $40-$50m. NO ONE is taking this sort of risk.

All I'm saying is the 4M in NIL takes away the urgency to leap to the pros. I'm not saying it'd be the right choice, but it's at least more of a choice than it used to be. Personally, I'd take that 1st overall pick contract while I'm considered to be the top guy in the draft. Next year I might be looked at more as a 2nd/3rd rounder.

True. Hoyer could have been the plumber that Billy referenced. Instead he’s made millions … lucky bastard lol

What's wrong with people?
EVERYONE is calling out about BB the GM - He's been so horrible, he's left the cupboard dry of talent, etc...
But, the same people keep making lists of the best players the Pats should trade away?!?!? For what, a late draft pick?
This isn't MLB (thank goodness)
He better not trade Bourne, Dugger, or any other starter with talent.
And enough with the tanking crap. Has all of NE turned soft or millenial?
1. Get & Keep the best players you can.
2. Do your job (coaches) to motivate them to overachieve by game planning for this decade.
3. And stop doing what's explicitly "not best for the football team" - and play the best performer, not the paid vet.
LET'S GOOOOOOO!
I know I am the King of rationalization, but-I still think barring the plethora of key injuries we have a good football team. You can't overcome injuries to the offensive line and cornerbacks at the level of impact we have suffered. We just need a consistent competent QB. That is easier said than done.

There was an article written about JK and delved into his background, personality, etc. He is hyper-competitive and more emotional than RK.

I also read that he and BB are tighter than BB and RK.

My belief is JK isn't happy at all and if things continue to trend downward, he'll advocate for a change.

With that said he'll push for it to be done respectfully (as opposed to Jerruh forcing Tom Landry to clear out his ****ing desk....)
