I like Mac more than most and have fought against the Pats need a #1 for years, but I think that only works if you have an elite QB.

But Kelce is just as good as #1 WR. The guy did have over 1,300 yards and 12 TDs. That is not only #1 WR type of stats, but top 10 #1 WR type of stats.
Nobody can tell me what "elite" is anymore, if fluctuates and changes all the time based on team success. They can only point out elite after it happens, rarely if ever before it happens.

If Obie does his job, one of either Mac or Zappe could play at at a top ten level of production.... is that "elite?"

I suspect if Mac or Zappe did play at that level of production, they'd still suck (here) because he's a Patriot and Patriot players are held to a much different standard by this fanbase... because they have such ridiculous outsized standards.

We have no clue what Thornton, Marcus Jones or Douglas can develop into.

We have never seen Gesicki or a healthy Hunter in a great offense.
We have seen Gesicki in Great Offense last year in Miami he was phased out career low numbers. IF I had those cheat codes I wouldn't throw to him either.

Really?? Has Thornton become Valdez Scantling yet c'mon Wozzy lets not go there yet.
Have any of the other Chiefs WR's from last year become Parker, Bourne or better than their best WR Juju? The WR's for the Chiefs last year were castoffs, the dregs nobody else wanted, head cases.

Interesting that they tried Sow at RT today (2nd team). Haven't seen any comments on how he did (the 2nd/3rd lines as a whole were apparently very bad).
On the other Pats forum yesterday one of the posters who attended the practice said Sow leveled Barmore on a run block. Our local reporters are pretty lame when it comes to watching camp battles that actually matter.

He was frozen out of that offense by a new regime. That's not being featured in a great offense at all.

Actually Hunter Henry's name is being called Mike Gesicki not so much I'm a little concerned. Also it seems like Sokol and Firkser are more in the mix than Gersicki.
Hunter and Mac know each other.

Hunter Henry led the entire NFL in touchdowns by a TE in 2021... it's not surprising they work well together already.

It shows what a Great QB can do with scrubs we saw Brady do that countless times Mac is nooo Brady. The Chiefs have a couple of WR's they are banking on this year Toney - Moore and the Rookie Rashee Rice. Our WR's have a lot to prove like our QB I am not going to say we are better than any squad especially on Offense. We don't have a Elite Playmaker on Offense we have just a bunch of guys.

I missed this quote from Bill:

His college coach said that if they had had two of him, then one would have played guard and the other tackle.

Sow has the physical attributes of a tackle - if he turns into a decent one, then he'd be the steal of the draft.

The times Brady and the Pats were good enough to win it all, they didn't have "scrubs" as weapons. They had players a lot like they have now, good to great weapons they signed at a discount or drafted and developed.

They weren't Julio Jones... but they were far from scrubs. We beat the team with Julio Jones.

Hearing the receivers are struggling, but Mac Jones is good though

I missed this quote from Bill:

Which is why all the offseason moaning that the Pats didn't draft an OT was misplaced... they did, he just wasn't the guy they wanted or the one media "draft experts" were touting.

Sow is massive, he is a great athlete for his size, he has enough length to play tackle. I was here pushing for them to take him on day three.

This is no time to make snap judgements about anything. Offensively they've been working a new coordinator in, a revised system, new linemen, new weapons... and facing a defense that was one of the best in the league last year, who return almost the same exact unit with superb rookies added in.

They've only worn pads once and barely had full contact drills.

We're still in the crawling phase of this process, walking is next, running is after that.

Wozzy it's all up to Mac can he make them work?? I still think he's the type of player who needs it the other way around Elite Skill Position players not average ones which I think the Patriots have aside from Rham.

I really hope Sow get his act together because if McDermutt is ahead of him it will be really disappointing. Mac will be running for his life which means a lot of Three and outs.

We need one of the QB's to provide quality level QB play, that is true. But they also need Obie to be inventive, rhythmic and efficient in his play calling. Mahomes/Kelce is only Mahomes/Kelce because Reid is driving the car.

It's also up to our offensive line to become an overpowering force in the trenches. They invested a lot of draft capital there this offseason, some of these youngsters need to hit.

Once all these ^ things above happen... it will be up the the weapons to do their job. Football starts at the line of scrimmage and works it's way out.

McDermott is a vet, Sow is a rookie. There's nothing wrong with McDermott except he isn't very strong, he is extremely athletic though. He is perfect as a swingman, as a backup, because his lack of strength doesn't matter if he is used in spurts... and for all I know he's gotten stronger in the strength program.

Sow is a stud, a beast, the coaches need to find a way to harness his raw athleticism and develop him into a player. We could have one of the biggest lines in the NFL in terms of sheer mass if they can get him on the field.

Definitely OC BOB is innovative I am confident about that we just have to hope that the pieces or players execute most of the time. No dumb penalties especially in the RZ that was a killer last year FGs instead of TDs.

Sow is being switched to a new position. We probably shouldn't expect him to compete for a significant role for another year.

I am banking on Calvin Anderson this year.

Can't wait see them play against there peers or counter parts I like the Big Mafi kid.
