IF Mac doesn't separate himself do we have a QB Controversy? I don't see them giving him the Starting job by default.
Mac is the starter and it's his job to lose. Barring injury it's doubtful he will.

In his 3 seasons, Duggar has shown to be limited at times in coverage and unable to match the speed of his coverage responsibility.
In '22.....
Comp % against: 69%
QB Rating against: 95
Receiving TDs allowed: 5
Tackles: 78
INTs: 3

For comparison sake in '22.....

Tyrann Mathieu [5th season] (3 Pro Bowls)

Comp % against: 62
QB Rating against: 77
Receiving TDs allowed: 3
Tackles: 91
INTs: 3
Note: No Pro Bowl selection in '22
Thank you for that information. It's very helpful. I've kind of gone sour on "pro bowl" selections. It's more of the eye test and the all pro selections or considerations that I have turned my attention too. Dugger is a hybrid type safety.. the honey badger was more of a Devin McCourty type deep half, 25 yards off the line safety. He was magnificent he had some of his best years in Arizona. But Dugger does it all. The run, plays TEs, covers backs out the backfield.. plays deep In coverage.. has a motor for days. He's everything you want in a safety in 2023 in the NFL.

Thanks. That’s useful. Would be more useful to see how other top saf ranked on those same metrics. At a quick glance there’s obviously a noticable fall-off, but it doesn’t look huge. At least not without more context to tell if it’s huge or slight. From that we can’t tell if Duggar is top three or five, or if there are ten or fifteen other players in there between the two you showed. To me that doesn’t look terrible, at a quick glance. Would also be helpful to know how many chances each of them had, to give a better idea of their consistency.

They have been working exclusively in the red zone though, not really Thornton's best spot to be used. Most of the targets are going to the big guys - the TEs, Parker, even JuJu who is only an inch or two shorter than Parker and has decent size.
Interesting because I believe all of TT's TDs last year (including in preseason) were in the RZ. I wonder who's covering him in these practices?

Bedard:

Quarterbacks: I'll say this about Jones — at least he's trying to make plays with a high degree of difficulty as most of his passes were corner routes. Zappe is Captain Checkdown so he's going to compile stats.
I mean I don't have a problem with a plethora of checkdowns...

YEAR 3.....YEAR 3.....

Year 1: Brady's cap charge + Cam Newton....and we still won SEVEN games...a friggin' miracle!

Year 2: We spent a lot of money + drafted a QB in round 1 + won 10 games...and made the playoffs.

Year 3: We were like a HANDFUL of plays from making it to the post-season DESPITE how bad we were on ST and in the Red Zone. ****, even Skylar Thompson gave the Bills all they could handle on wildcard weekend in Buffalo the week following Mac looking pretty good @ Buffalo only to be doomed by not one, but TWO special teams TD's....after Rham fumbled against the Bengals...after Meyers' ill fated lateral pick six....after Dugger was held in Minnesota for another KOR TD.

Year 4: New OC, improved special teams (it is 100% gonna be better, I guarantee it), and a nasty D....

not a huge picture taker, but here are some snaps i took with my phone yesterday.. i actually took more video than pictures

Judon is the man btw.. Crowd lit up when he was running over and he had a huge smile, spent a ton of time signing autographs, taking pictures with people, etc.. and I was sitting next to a couple who's little boy was in front and not only got an autograph, but Judon picked him
up and talked to him for a minute while he signed more autographs

I was super happy for the little boy and his parents, they were sitting right next to me and were elated... Judon is amazing, he spreads joy to everyone he's around

when I was putting my son to bed last night, after talking about our day, minecraft, etc he said "I like football"

"What can you tell me about my blind date?"
"She has a great personality"

Me: What can you tell me about my blind date?

Friend: 3-input, but a real *****.

Me: I'll give it a try.

Mac has great touch on his throws, but he made 1 really ugly throw that was picked off and he started immediately doing pushups, disgusted with himself

I saw 1 perfect laser into tight coverage from Zappe in the redzone, but he's still having some batted ball issues and Mac is clearly still the #1 option

as an irrelevant side note, I don't like when QBs wearing red no contact jerseys scramble out of the pocket.. not a good way to practice scrambling until the pads are on, but even then no one is allowed to hit them so... just seems like it trains their brain to think they can do more than they can running, but in a real game the defense will be trying to cripple them
