Sure, but it's a trend, not only the result of this specific drill. The over reliance on throws to the backfield when the field shortens has been an issue for years now. Mac can do that, it's everything else they need to work on. Especially when the first pass is picked off targetting Gesicki down the seam and then it's the Ty Montgomery fest. No, keep at it, use those guys, put the ball up for them to get it.

The fact that he almost admitted there was friction is he has not forgotten what happened last year or if anything may have carried over to this year. Who really knows except BB if they are in fact “good”. This will be blown up by the media if there is any one minor blow up between the two. Two LB’s (or even one in some cases) and several hybrids will be the norm in this defense. I like it.
My concern early on will be the deep safety coverage.

Could also be an evaluation as to how the new guy plays against starters too, to see what they have. Tape can only tell you so much.

Mike Reiss said that Mac Jones said in his initial meetings with Bill O'Brien, BOB started to question him about his footwork on specific plays during the season last year off the top of his head and working with Jones to improve his mechanics. I wonder if Judge even notice these things in real time studying the game film days after the games. That is what happens when you have a real OC and QB coach.

His horrible mechanics was glaring last year throwing off his back foot numerous times getting nervous on a fake blitz also poor pocket presence. Mac needs to throw darts can't hang the football up against even average CB's in the Pros it will be coming back the other way. That said glad BOB is back in the house.

No, I meant all the times they would throw to Parker for the 50-50 contested balls that would get picked off. You're correct about using his tall targets in the red zone.

Those contested throws to Paker happened mostly in the very beggining of the season and very rarely (if ever) in the redzone.

True because they didn't make it into the red zone very often. But it certainly seemed like Mac was being told to put it into the contested catches a lot and they weren't working out.
