While reviewing the game, I found two plays where the Patriots threw unorthodox versions of the unbalance line at the Texans. And not just because Fleming reported eligible both times.
Here is the first:
In the one above, Vollmer is not actually on the line. So they have a 1 - 4 set-up. They must have counted Mike Williams as being on the line even though he's set back slightly. Otherwise, the Patriots wouldn't have 7. This play resulted in an 8 yard run for Blount
Here is the second one:
In the second one,Vollmer is actually lined up outside of Cannon on the right side and Fleming is lined up offset back to Vollmer's right. Mike Williams is lined up on the line where the traditional LT would be.
This play gets blown up when Wilfork takes Cannon out of position and allows Cushing to fill the hole that Bolden was going to..
