It's kinda weird to see Steve Buscemi in a serious role, but he totally pulls it off!
Sandler hijacked him a little bit in a great way because his comedy is great. But he was great in Reservoir of Dogs and Fargo. And I very much enjoyed him as the lead in Boardwalk too.

Armegeddon needed him. Just to bring it back to where this thread has gone don't forget he owed 100,000 grand which he spent on a stripper named Molly Mouse.

The boosch is great.

Boardwalk Empire was a bit like The Wire that way, second and even third tier characters in both shows were given enough backstory that if nothing else made their motivations and the characters inclusion credible. Both shows also took great pains to be faithful to their in universe continuity. Arguably the biggest failing of GoT its last 2 seasons
Yep. Not only was the writing good but the quality of the acting was also incredible. Stephen Graham, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Shannon and of course Omar Little as Chalky White.

I tried so hard to get into House of the Dragon S2...just couldn't do it.

If you have a brain, or aren’t named Alex Van Punt you move your best weapon around to make him harder to defend.
I like that... good one Ring... Alex van punt... I expect diggs to be all over the formation.. the guy can get open off one move.. guys foot work is just superior.. I feel like diggs, pop and Boutte will be our primary play makers.. at WR..

Pulp obviously gets the hype and deservedly so but Reservoir of Dogs has always been my favorite Terentino movie.

Inglorious Bastards is up there too something about taking a machine gun to Hitler's face that is so obvious and genius at the same time movie magic at it's finest. And the dialogue from Hans and Hugo.

It's understood that Chase wanted to use the Kevin Finnerty angle to explore the whole, "Is Tony who he is because of his environment or is it his actual being",and we got the answer. I actually liked the "briefcase" episode. The season with Tony Bundetto was excellent.

The other one was the episode with the moth on Raphie's head. Just kinda weird...but I get what Chase was trying to do.

But yea....it's in my top 5 still. I think a sequel to "The Many Saints of Newark" has been green lit. We'll see how that turns out.
Yeah, I think that one with Ralphie in the car with Gloria and Carmella driving was some sort of reference to Tony's problems being gone but still lingering and weighing on him. Ralphie was a big earner who drove a good chunk of wealth for Tony, and if I remember that timeline correctly, this was right around the time Carmella was driving for more insight into their finances and the living trust. The whole caterpillar to moth thing, I never really knew what that was supposed to reference specifically. The change from alive to dead, or symbolizing Ralph was trying to change before his death (I always liked the Sympathy for the Devil references before Ralph's death). Definitely more abstract than the Finnerty dream, but I always enjoy nerding out over the show.

As for The Many Saints of Newark, yikes. What a mess that movie was. The timelines, the actors playing Sil and Big ****y, the strange race angle, clumsy references to the show, and the weird insinuation Junior was gay. I was hopeful for that movie because Chase was involved, but he really turned out a jumbled mess there.

Reminder this thread is actually about Diggs....

Diggs posted this on his instagram. Apparently he is a fan of Vrabes...

I think Ing Bastards is Brad Pitt's best role.

I love the show too, just rewatched it a few months back. Much as I enjoy all the mafia stuff, my favorite bits in the show were Tony’s session with Dr. Melfi. Uncovering all the layers of his character and such. I had so much fun debating the final scene of the show too, finding it brilliant rather than outraging (I interpreted it as a breaking of the fourth wall and that the viewing audience was whacked, but that’s another can of worms). The Finnerty parts I understood the symbolism of purgatory, the introspection of the paths people take in life, how even clean, family man Kevin had blood on his hands as someone who sold weapons to the military, whereas Tony’s methods of violence were more direct. My issue is IMO they took too much time on it (two episodes, which I had to double check because I originally thought it was three). I liked the various dream sequences, the weird boardwalk ones and such. But I would’ve preferred they condensed that to half of that. That’s my main gripe. The show is still brilliantly written with lots of nuance and callbacks throughout.

(I can only hope the Stefon Diggs experience is just as fun here! Trying desperately to steer us back on topic a little, lol)
I can definitely understand the issue with having that storyline span 2 episodes. I remember watching it the first time and wondering what it all meant but also how does it advance any of the main storylines. What the show was great at was having some of the main storylines seemingly fizzle out (Junior's legal issues and dementia, issues with NY, etc) when they were actually simmering in the background only to become the catalyst for a major event/series of events.

As for Stefon Diggs apparently his contract is written so he can be whacked after one season if things go sideways.

I always think he's best playing weird, quirky, characters. Him as the gypsy fighter in that Guy Pierce movie is up there for me as well.

My belief is that was always the case but the question is the dead cap/savings if cut differential.

I gotta think the $26m is not all signing bonus.

I give Pitt credit. He really started at the bottom and worked his way up.

For instance I watched "No Way Out" (Kevin Coster & Gene Hackman) recently....Pitt was an extra in the movie.

Totally. He was so good in that [I'm stopping now, ross, haha]

Pitt and Freeman in Se7en is an outstanding movie.

Diggs first social media post since joining the Pats.

Might be a bit unfair to put Bourne in the category. He may be a JAG at this point but at least hes established himself as a functional NFL WR, fought back from a devastating injury to play again, been to a SB, and make enough money to last a lifetime.
