Shogun was outstanding, right there with Chernobyl for quality viewing. It hewed much closer to Clavell's story than the 1980 miniseries. It will be interesting to see where they take it in the second season
Great show. Allegedly another Shogun is coming out.

Chernobyl was great. Very sad, obviously.

I have no idea who is calling Carter the next Lawrence Taylor. lol. Where did that come from? The hope is he is the next Micah Parsons. The similarities and potential is there, and he is well worth the #4 pick.

Do you understand we are not choosing between Hunter and Carter. ? One may fall to us. Both won't because of Mayo. We are left with Ten, Clev, and NY scraps. If one falls, we had better run that card to the podium. It doesn't matter which one.
In my opinion, Carter is the 2nd best player in this draft behind Hunter. His ceiling is crazy high, if we miss out on Hunter, but get Carter, our defense, which I think is already a strength, becomes so much better. Landry rushing from one side and Carter from the other, with Milton Williams in the middle, and if we get lucky, Barmore in the middle too, wow.

I agree, if one of Hunter or Carter falls to 4, run to that podium, don’t even take a minute to decide.

While your right diggs was asked to play more in the slot In Houston due to Dell and Collins.. however diggs could play outside here but I believe his supreme route running abilities Will allow him to play anywhere really..

Not something we’ve hear about a Patriot WR in the last few years.

I'm not Saying Pop is the next Edelman or Welker. But he has all the make up of a high volume slot guy which is something Josh definitely knows a little about developing and utilizing.

I expect his receptions to go up. Probably not over 100 like Wes or Jules but closer to 90 doesn't seem unrealistic in his 3rd year and now with proper coaching again.
Yeah, if Pop doesn’t become really good in Josh’s offense, then he is who he is, an average slot.

If he comes back healthy, or even close, it's a great signing for the Pats. They may surprise a lot of people this year.
Diggs’ public displays of temper have given him a bad wrap. Has never gotten in trouble with the law or the league at least that I can recall. He’s been praised by coaches for every team he’s played with for his work ethic. Hoping that can rub off on the younger receivers.

You have no clue what I value, fool.
Diggs hasn't "been right" for 2 years.

How is Diggs going to magically help Boutte and Douglas reach their potential by taking snaps from them? How does it help Polk or Baker reach their potential. A potential NONE of us know.

No. You don't have to pay to get better. And you certainly don't over-pay for an injured player who is a locker-room issue. Clearly, you've learned nothing in your years of following football.
Stop just saying **** to try and support a narrative. Why do you say he hasn't been right?

No one is the next Taylor. I’ve watched a lot of Carters games the last couple years but the game that sold me was I believe the playoff game against Notre Dame when he basically was playing with only one arm and was still getting the best of Notre Dames Offensive Tackle and disrupting plays.

OK, I will take your word for it. I have not watched enough to get a solid feel for him, but what I watched looked OK, but I did not see him shed blocks or run over people. Maybe he is the next Micah Parson, I don't know. But think of the draft capital the Patriots could get if Carter is still on the board at 4 and they trade down? The could probably get blue chip players at both LT and WR.

Obviously if Hunter is there, take him, but that would be too good to be true.....

I don’t agree with the sentiment that he hasn’t been right. His slight drop in production can be explained.

2023: he had 73-868-7 through the first 10 games, on pace with his usual stud production in Buffalo. Diggs was averaging 10 targets per game. But then the Bills dropped to 5-5 and they fired their OC Ken Dorsey midseason. Replaced by Joe Brady who made a major change to the offense, shifting it to a more run-heavy approach and spreading the targets more in the passing game. The Bills went from averaging 25.4 carries per game under Dorsey through the first 10 games to averaging 36.9 carries per game under Brady through the final 7 games. Diggs saw his targets decline from 10.2 per game to 8.3 per game.

2024: spent his first 5 games with the clear alpha Nico Collins leading in targets and receptions. Still was on pace for 1000 yards prior to his injury despite the Texans offense struggling all season and their OC Bobby Slowik getting fired at the end of it. Even playing second banana to Collins through those 5 games, his 31 catches ranked 7th in the NFL among WRs at the time, 315 yards ranked 15th among WRs, and only 5 other WRs in the league had more receiving TDs than him (3). He tore his ACL in his 8th game. By then he had 47 catches (6th highest among WRs), 496 yards (16th best among WRs), and those 3 TDs (tied for 15th best). The worst he’s looked was those 7 games under Joe Brady. He wasn’t prime Diggs under Slowik in Houston but he was better than with Brady.

Imagine how he could look under McDaniels, with Maye peppering him with targets. Chances are we’ll never get peak Diggs again but even if he can regain the form he showed with Houston that’s a very promising outcome for this offense. I think it’d be a mistake to write him off.
