Yeah, should fall short. Korte says $2M alone won't make him qualify, and I'd say he's unlikely to get much (if any) playing time boost. Snap count doesn't come into play with the comp pick calculation until 25%, and Bolden only played 31% of the offensive snaps last season even with White out for about 87% of the season.

Has to fall short, I believe. He's 140 slots below the cutoff, and the max one can gain is 120 IIRC.

Position is wrong. Usually happens with an offensive lineman, occasionally with a wide receiver.

Happy about this signing. Bolden/Gunner replacement. Savvy, hopefully can be used in an x factor type of role.

such an odd signing, but super normal for BB. all we can do is hope he turns into what LG or C-Pat did when coming in here seemingly dried up. He could create a nice little role, being a savvy vet. I guess he could play that true-slot role too. But, White insurance is great to have. Seems that JJ is probably gone then.
Who knows, he might turn into our Deebo Samuel!
Or at minimum, he's still a pretty quick guy in the return game.

having returned in college 10 years ago isn't relevant to whether he is a top 10 NFL punter.

Is it ridiculous to think the Ty will be used like Deebo? Similar builds, both have good hands and are very athletic. I think Ty will be a huge weapon for Mac as a slot WR rather than a Bolden out of the backfield type. He is able to get open quick, so is this part of Bills plan to go against the improved pass rush of several AFC teams?

i recognize that.....that's the point i was making, when i said maybe a gunner replacement i hadn't looked at his NFL stats yet, KO only......so then i decided to look at his last punt returns

As someone pointed out, one question mark is blocking. For him to play on 3rd down, he has to be able to block and to pick up the blitz.
However, even without that, Montgomery is a fine pickup as a STer and emergency #5 WR.
