Player Signing Patriots sign RT Morgan Moses

3 years? Well regardless, he’s still a solid starter. I’ll take it.

Good addition, will solidify the RT spot.

He is already the best pass blocking Tackle on the roster.

PFF breakdown

Moses remained a model of consistency in his 11th NFL season, missing just two weeks with a knee injury and logging at least 14 starts for the 10th consecutive season - every year since his sophomore campaign when he became a starter. That said, Moses has now played less than 70% of snaps in consecutive seasons after eight straight above 90%. Moses offers a high floor as a pass protector, which is what keeps veteran tackles around in this league for a long time.

Need to see the terms of that "3 year deal" as I'm guessing there's some cap gymnastics there. My guess is that it's a 2 year deal that, if he's a train wreck, they can bite the bullet on and move on after 1 year if he ages overnight but it's set up for him to play 2 years on it. Probably a high year 3 salary he'll never see to inflate the AAV.

On paper, he gives them a solid RT on a stop gap basis. Wallace can be developed at his own pace now, if the new coaching staff thinks he's salvageable. But he's not someone worth pinning high hopes to and they won't ignore possible draft solutions for a long term fix either.

He's 100 years old but he's lightyears better than anything we had the last couple years.

I’m glad they added at least one new starter at RT. I’d like to see them sign Cam Robinson and Mekhi Beckton as well.

I'm looking at Wallace as a RG. Not this season, but he was pegged in the last draft as RG being his best position. Perhaps when they can cut Onwenu when his cap hit is less (or Trade him), Wallace slips in as RG?

The money we didn't have to spend on Godwin or Williams might come close to covering both. And we know Beckton can play OG too.

we had the worst OL in the league last year. This is a band-aid signing, but at least it is a step in the right direction

That's a massive red flag as far as their thought process to drafting him. None of the LT options potentially in free agency should have been viewed as a long term answer other than Alaric Jackson if he made it there. Dan Moore is a JAG stop gap type, Stanley is too old to be counted on long term. Jaylon Moore is a projection. Cam Robinson is stop gap type. If they liked Campbell as a long term LT he should probably be the pick regardless if what they did. If he's a reactionary fall back they're only talking themselves into because they missed in FA, that's a red flag.

Dianna Russini let this one out of the bag last night. She tweeted out a breaking news image with Moses with a Patriot logo after his name.

Good signing,

Maybe lets you look at the first few rounds differently. Go for a wideout or even take a center or guard. Left tackle is gonna be a project spot unless you get a surprise trade or something

I actually like Becton more at guard than tackle. Him and Onwenu would be an enormous guard combo.

Cam Robinson was always my second choice after Stanley. Other than last year, he has always been an above average or better pass blocker. I will give him a mulligan for last year because everyone sucked on the Jags and he came in late in the season to the Vikes and may never have built a continuity.
