I hear ya, but if he even gives us one season as a decent pass protector and run blocker while we can coach someone up or draft his replacement, it's better than what we had last year. And I suspect it by no means broke the bank.

PFF lists him as the 64th best OT, 55th best pass blocker, 72nd best run blocker.

For comparison, Lowe was rated 102.
Caedan Wallace 131.

So a big upgrade from worst in the league to below average.

If he gives us just one solid season while we find his young replacement, it's already much better than last season.

Really the only signing i didn't like given the salary/age, but we NEEDED new lineman

Very cool to have a good defense already too, going into the season. Im guessing we are going after good deals on the offense for the rest free agency

I like it. Not every answer needs to be a long term answer. The guy can play and the contract is good for what he gives. So far I've liked all the big contracts signed by the Pats. They are paying out fair money to get good players, but not throwing it around and putting themselves in a bad spot down the line on bad deals. Everyone has been paid what they are worth. No more no less. Totally good with that!
