2010 5th round pick by SD.
It Is What It Is Source: Patriots add Jonathan Crompton to practice squad
As someone who watched him quite a bit at Tennessee during the 2009 season, I can honestly say that Crompton is awful.
Hope this doesn't indicate anything concerning about Chung's injury
Not sure how signing a QB to an open PS spot is related to an injured safety on the active roster. Does Chung owe Crompton money?
Maybe hes the next Peyton Manning
I had to wonder the same thing
Straight outta Crompton, crazy muh-fuh named Ice cube....
Well, I was thinking that they signed a QB for the PS and then promote Ventrone to the 45 man. Maybe too much thinking!!!
Strange days Here's something interesting, posted around 1pm today:

Was Crompton the one from last week or is he talking about someone else? I guess this PS spot news sorta flew under the radar (I can't imagine why).
I wonder who the other candidate was?
Is Crompton on board because BB sees potential or is he here to mimic someone for the Cleveland game? Mangini hasn't chosen his starting QB yet btw lol
Cleveland Browns far from choosing starting QB vs. New England Patriots - ESPN
It's a brotha that will smotha your motha... and make your sister think I love her.
Crompton was drafted by a guy who took Whitehurst and then flipped him for better picks.
I was a senior in HS when that came out. One of the all-time great rap albums.
Belichick likes "Gangsta Gangsta".......It's not about salary...it's about reality.
Has to be one of the worst QBs I've seen play a college game.
He's putrid. I remember I went to the UCLA-Tenn game two years ago, Vols were like 21 points favs, and lost, due to Crompton looking like one of the worse college QBs I ever saw play.
(Of course he went on to have a career day vs. Georgia the day I bet the under in that game .....)
int machine from what I remember, especially in the clutch.
Maybe BB wants a PS playa to impersonate Sanchez for the early Dec game?
Excellent point, and they do play the Chicago Cutlers the following week, as well.
Forgot about that.
The best move Josh McD made was geting pick value for over rated, undisciplined Cutler.
We're all assuming they took him to be a quarterback. But everybody thought the same thing when they took Edelman. Any chance they might be looking at him for another position? Is he fast or elusive as a running type quarterback?
Nope. Runs a 4.9 40.
