Is there actually any rule preventing him from putting himself on the active roster in an emergency situation? I know it wouldn’t happen but I’m curious if it’s actually banned in any capacity. Dude can 100% still play in an emergency.
Not sure…over my pay grade but good question.

Just googled and found that the CBA prohibits it due to it being a way to circumvent the salary cap.

He looks like he would pucker out at the 50 on a 100 yd dash

Hmm. But would it, if he also signed himself to a vet minimum contract as a player? I guess I could see teams cheating this by paying a guy millions of dollars as a “coach” and then putting him on the cap as a player on a vet minimum deal though. It’d be nice to have exceptions for Head Coaches though lol I doubt many teams will make guys their head coach just to cheat the cap…

Exactly. Coaches aren’t limited in pay. That’s why they do it. Makes sense.

You don't have to limit anyone's pay you just count it all against the cap problem solved.

PS: Bill Russell.....Just feels like he deserves props for where this conversation just turned.

I can tell theyve been doing this for decades, because their site looks like its from 1998. I've never heard of them.

I hear you on Pro-Day numbers, but they're the next best thing to combine numbers. Wallace (along with most of the other tackles) didnt do the shuttle in the combine, so thats all we have to go on.
I've already stated when a player like Wallace only runs certain drills once there's the possibility they're better than they look. Because for decades I've watched prospects run a drill poorly at the combine, then improve upon it mightily at a pro day.

I hate incomplete work outs, it leaves too much unknown. This is true of Dial the CB they drafted, his mobility drills were poor, but he only ran them once. He looks great on film and all his other measurables were very good. There's the possibility these guys are better than they look, there's the possibility I'm wrong... I never dismiss that possibility.

That would solve it in the next cba. But it’s such a rare issue, I doubt it’s worth them spending time on.

Bill was a legend and an all time great, indeed!

FYI Troy and the other coaches have been added. Although no bio…

Edit: Bio’s are now added for all coaches …except for Troy.

Pity us, the players won't do the drills that we feel that we need to see.

The teams have seen these players who have performed whatever drills that the teams felt are necessary.

I like prospects who aren’t afraid to compete.

But luckily teams have seen these players so they a 100% success rate… it’s not like the average NFL career last three years.

Aren't afraid to compete? For what? fan approval?

LET ME BE A BIT MORE SERIOUS
I think that all these are more important than combine drills and measurements

1) college play and film
2) post season practices, games, and interviews
3) combine interviews
4) pro day
5) team visits
6) input from college coaches who coached him or coached against him
7) character issues, on-the-field and off
8) leadership roles on college team

To be clear, we all have our measurements that matter, but teams don't need the combine to get the information: height, weight, hand size, and wingspan.

Compete at drills, darts, parallel parking and Parcheesi... I want to see the competitive gene.

Assuming they don't have them in for a private workout, teams need the combine and pro day to measure these players. Height, weight, wingspan, athleticism... suggesting otherwise is absurd. Science matters, athleticism matters, it's not everything... but it matters quite a bit.

Randy Moss wasn't Randy Moss because he gave good a pre-draft interview or worked with orphans... he was an athletic freak.
