Patriots Player Departure Patriots release JU JU

The subject is WRs as in MEYERS. Did you not understand that from the outset.

Not other positions on the team

It’s like trying to get through to Rainman.
Yeah genius, I said BB preferred to extend his own players. You listed every free agent receiver they signed for two decades without acknowledging the Pats barely drafted any WR’s.. and when they did it was late in the draft.

And all of this is again, based on your dislike over Bill so you’re ignoring a report he never wanted Juju to begin with… the collaborative did.

You’re like Rain Man, but without the handy ability to count cards.

7, if Bourne stays on PUP like I hope he does.
If Bourne is on the PUP, I see no reason to carry 6 WR's on the 53. There are even few reps for the #4 WR. This especially true since two of our top 5 receivers will likely by Henry and Gibson. ALSO, we want to more of a running team.

I think that we should remind ourselves in the next offseason. How many receptions will our #5 WR and #6 get?
====================
If this season is to be all about the youngsters, then we should just trade Osbourne and keep Bourne and the kids.

I cannot type slow enough for you to follow along.

Woozy

The voices in your head don’t count as a “report”. He wanted Juju, he signed him, it was all his call to do so… it went poorly. Sht happens. Wouldn’t be a big deal but we all know the BB internet defense force never rests!

This is why they signed JuJu over Jackobi. Too bad JuJu's knees were shot.

Parker and Juju out
Osborne, Polk and Baker in
Osborne's destination and contract reflects the rest of the league's view of his caliber.
The rookies are untested and are being asked to develop in a run-first AVP offense while catching passes from a journeyman QB with no business starting in the NFL

Douglas returning
Awesome talent.
Massive durability questions and concussion concerns.
I fear due to his size Pop will be on a pitch count his entire career
Bourne eventually back from injury
Significant injury
Slow to learn new offenses (in NE)
Yet, some posters don't believe that we've improved at WR.
-Bourne & Douglas were both on the roster last year, each with current injury concerns.
-The rookies bring the excitement of the unknown but have never caught an NFL pass.
-Osborne's last team wouldn't pony up $4 mill to keep him and he chose a Jacoby Brissett led passing attack to demonstrate his worth, while on a 1 year prove-it contract. YIKES! (Maybe he lost a bet or was drunk....or his agent secretly hates him)

Claiming NE is improved at WR.......................Huge reach

Time will tell
Hoping you're right

On the positive side, Thornton did survive the ground in preseason game #1

We return Douglas and Bourne (short season in 2023) and Thornton

Is it really a HUGE REACH to believe that Osborne, Polk and Baker will be better than Juju and Parker?

Still no #1
WR is no longer the worst position on the team, it is now stocked with young players with potential. I feel that the offense needs a #1 weapon that cannot be taken away in the clutch. It doesn't necessarily have to be a WR. Maybe Osborne could bring some OL help. Otherwise it doesn't hurt to have a veteran presence for all of the young guys.

Osborne is probably a starter unless Baker and Polk make big strides in them remaining offseason. He’s been the most steady WR and is a vet. Thornton on the other side stretching the field and Douglas in the slot.

The two rookies with Reagor providing depth and Bourne coming off the PUP around week 5. That’s a really good group assuming health and continued development by the kids.

A #1 isn’t necessary, and Douglas can be a third down converting machine.

To be clear, you have a starting 3 of Osborne Thornton and Douglas in the slot.

I'm actually fine with that, with no need for a 6th since we want to give Polk and Baker some reps rather than giving reps to a 6th WR.

The Pats won a lot without a true number one. Teams could not stop Jules, Amendola and the third down backs even without Gronk. Same with the first part of the dynasty. The only concern is that style of play depends on consistently getting first downs and steady scoring. This offense needs to be much more efficient for that to work.
