Answer the question, the Red Sox are on and the Patriots are on who do you watch?

The answer's pretty obvious on a Patriots messageboard, eh?

It depends, really. If it's a Sox game in early September, then obviously the Pats. But if it's October and the Sox are, say, playing a Sunday night game in Game 7 of the ALCS, and the Pats are playing the Bills that night or something, then Sox it is.

Ask this same question on SoSH. See what you get.

No jealousy here, I'm just looking for some outlet to listen to Patriots coverage, particularly once football season starts. There's a rather extreme imbalance in the amount of football that gets covered on radio and in the newspapers. I'm trying to compensate by listening to podcasts, but, for example, it's a shame that a radio show called "Patriots Monday" can't be dedicated once a week to actual discussion of the New England Patriots without baseball dominating.

Patriots Monday isn't a show...they dedicate the whole day to the Pats:

D&C: Tom Brady and Boomer Esieson interview

Dale and Holley: They broadcast from Gillette, and have at least 3 player interviews.

The Big Show: They broadcast from Gillette and have an interview with BB and usually one player

Planet Mikey: I don't know, don't listen

Now they will still talk about other stuff, but the majority is the Pats...just like the Friday before a game. You also have to take into account the fact that there is much more info out there about the Sox, getting info about the Pats is like stealing secrets from the government!

The Big Show brings in guest hosts each day (Glen Ordway and Pete Sheppard being the only constants) They bring in specialists to what they think they days subject will be. On Pats Monday and Fridays before the game, they bring in Steve DeOssie and Fred Smerlas and talk mostly football...on other times they have Steve Buckley, etc...to talk Red Sox. Around the Garnett deal they had Cedric Maxwell on all the time because of all the C's talk. Don't get pissed off when you tune in and hear Sox talk, listen to see who the hosts are and that should give you a good idea what's going on.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I won't miss a Pats game. If they are on at the same time as the Sox, usually the Sox are in the playoffs or a really important game so i might TiVo the pats and watch the Sox. If the Sox game isn't extremely important then I will TiVo that and watch the Pats.

I was going to post the same thing. However, if you ask it at SoSH, you will probably get banned for life and have to turn in your secret decoder ring.

**No offense to those of you who post at SoSH. I read there a lot and learn quite a bit, but there is a high percentage of elitist, arrogant people on that board.**

D&C have Brady and Boomer on, the only time I will routinely listen.

Mikey can't talk football because he's too busy making fun of A-Rod or trying to get Manny out of Boston.

Thanks I will update my post.

Do you enjoy banging your head against the wall? How many times will you ignore the answer that has been provided?

Just a note...the big show has been talking nothing but Pats the first 30 minutes of the show. :rocker:

Yep. Mainly because Stearns, Burt, and Mike Ratte are on the show.

But the last two callers have actually been ripping the Pats, complaining about the defensive backfield. It's quite comical.

One guy was *****ing about how the Pats should have kept McGinest, Law, and all the others, and how the Pats "haven't won anything" since they left.

And now he's *****ing about how the Pats should have re-signed Branch and Givens, giving them as much money as possible, because they are the best WRs in the Belichick era.

And somebody wanted more Pats talk?

I appreciate the interviews and all, but I recall many Patriots Mondays where the hosts might be situated down at Gillette, but the bulk of the conversation is centered around the Red Sox, which again, is fine during baseball season.

Since this dead horse has been beaten so badly its beginning to resemble dog food, I hereby volunteer to actually quantify with a stopwatch the amount of time that is spent on Patriots Talk between interviews. If I am wrong, and greater than 50% of that time is actually "dedicated" to the Patriots, I will eat one can of dog food, horse-flavored, preferably.

They're even having The Best of the Bob Kraft Guy II for the whiner line today. The Best of the Bob Kraft Guy I was on March 2.

Nice, I'll have to check the audio vault as I missed it...that guy is hilarious!

It will always be the Pats for me...Red Sox will always be the bastard stepchild to me...it's mostly because I'm a much bigger football fan in general then baseball. I know a lot about every NFL team, and in baseball I only know a lot about the Red Sox and Yankees. I could give two craps about the rest. I would never watch a baseball game unless one of those two teams were playing. Football, on the other hand, I would watch two middle school teams playing...

The big show today (2-6) is going to talk mainly Pats and have DeOssie and Smerlas on to co-host.

Just a quick note....Buckley is being cool talking football and Smerlas and DeOssie just spent quite a while talking X's and O's. They talked about what the pats D actually does and why it's different from the rest of the league; IE not a stats driven D. Def a good day to listen!

Today's show has been the best football talk I have heard in a long time.

Steve D. and Fred Smerlas are getting deep into schemes and such.

I new they had it in them. Why can't they talk like this at least once a week....even though it's only preseason.

Exactly!!!

So you get me to tune in and all I hear is Sox talk. Some rich yuppie scum from Sudbury (gawd, I'm SO glad I sold my home there & moved) calls in continuing a topic about some Drew guy on the Sox.

Sorry man, there was hardly any Sox talk today...(yesterday)...the majority was Pats talk. Anytime Smerlas and DeOssie are on the Big Show it's a good bet that the Pats will dominate the conversation.
