Marcus Cannon placed on reserve list - Extra Points - Boston.com

Cannon, who was drafted out of Texas Christian University in the fifth round this year, has non-Hodgkins lymphoma, a treatable form of cancer. The move, which means Cannon can't play or practice until after Week 6 of the season, clears roster space for cornerback Antwaun Molden, whom the Patriots claimed off waivers today.

Cannon remains eligible to be at the Patriots' facility, work out, and meet with medical staff.

He's coming off of cancer treatment, no offseason program, camps, or per-season, and he is switching position to guard, unless they are so racked by injury they have no other choice I don't see him playing a down this year. Great project, I look forward to seeing start at RG next year, hope he makes it happen.

I think that he's a great storyline for New England. The Patriots also know that he will play his heart out for them as they were willing to tale a chance on him.

This is one of the reasons that I like this organization so much.

They are offering him a hand-up, not a hand-out.
