you just arent seeing the silver lining here fellas

we cant keep the trend going of scoring less points than the previous week, since we scored 0 last game

it cant get worse than 0 points.... can it?

I'll argue your signature - I can't stand BB's press conferences, but I consider him the best coach I've ever seen and always defend him.

Or maybe that should be "defended," as in past tense.
Biggest problem right now is Mac. Biggest problem forever is that BB won't let rookies make rookie mistakes. No matter who the Patriots draft at, say, WR, BB's will go with higher FLOOR vets.
Boutte, Thornton, and Douglas should see all kinds of action the rest of the year. Mafi, Sow, and even Andrews should get lots of looks.

Marcus Jones should be out there as soon as he's healthy, and if he can't crack the secondary ahead of Wade (who seems to be playing pretty well) and/or Bryant, along iwth the other regulars, then maybe it's time for Marcus to think Offense is his ticket.
They need a big and fast youth movement to figure out exactly what they need going forward (besides a QB - Mac ain't it - still waiting for someone to explain to me why none of his teammates made a move to defend him in that Jets scuffle).

Play the kids. Play them until they're exhausted, then play them some more. And take notes.
And get ready to off-load whenever you can. I'd include Trent Brown in that list, despite what PFF says. He could bring some serious draft capital to a tackle-needy team looking to make a run.
Youth movement. Speed movement on Offense. Violence movement on the DL (that's what I love most about the Eagles and Saints' DLs...they play like monsters).

PS. As an aside, I saw a meme of a foursome of Eagle's fans in their Jerseys for Jason Kelce, Fletcher Cox, Jaylen Hurts, and D'Andre Swift standing side-by-side in that order.

Give it a minute, you'll get there...

I saw this also, I think the whole thing is a PR stunt, cross company branding synergy to sell some crap. She has a film coming out and the NFL is trying to negotiate a new deal or something and the Chiefs are the league darlings... you can tell how they always get phantom calls their way in the closing minutes of close games.

To be fair to Bill, I've asked him to do the right thing and hold Mac accountable, the same way he held Demario Douglas accountable for losing the football, for Boutte not knowing to drag his second foot on the sideline, for Rhamondre and Damien Harris not knowing how to pass block. Be consistent and hold people accountable.

Never ever in the past would he accept this level of incompetence and recklessness with the football. The old Bill didn't care if his players had fun, or frankly give a rat's azz about their feelings on the football field at all. That's why things that typically never happened are happening now. Special teams errors, jumping offsides, missed blocks, penalties, turnovers.

Mac Jones leads the entire NFL in turnovers.

If BB feels so strongly and emotionally connected to Mac that he can't bench him for terrible play... then the problem is Bill Belichick.

If we see Mac again this week, Bill has truly lost his fastball and it's time for him to be put out to pasture. - signed supposedly the biggest BB homer in the history of Patriot football forum
He has been benched 2 games in a row.
Zappe has been worse. Change to prove a point when it’s bad for the team will never happen with BB

They scored zero points against the Saints, Mac is responsible for opposing defensive scoring 4 TD’s and he has engineered 5.

Zappe has thrown a few passes, how can he have been worse. How much is less than zero points?

Anyone who has half a brain understands that there will be growing pains with a rookie kicker vs a veteran pro like Folk

That was understood when the decision was made, because Ryland can be our kicker for the next 15 years and Folk might have been our kicker for maybe the next 2-3 years

Then he should've signed a PK as a UDFA... You know, like Nearly Every Other Team in the NFL Does?

he used a 4th on Ghostkowski and that worked out really well

Folk was very accurate but his leg was dead...couldnt do kickoffs, couldnt kick further than 40 or so yards on FGs

He lead the league this time last Year too in that same category notice a pattern?
Oh daaang - do you have a citation for this? I do see 6 TO for Mac through 3 games to start 2022, which... is pretty darn bad. At the time, we all thought it was Patty (worth x2), but maybe it was the special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles in a sesame seed bun.

Have you watched Zappe for 3 quarters? Has he done ANYTHING to give you reason to think he has what it takes?
The problem with the 3 quarters is that it was not as the starting QB. As explained by Cassel, there's a huge difference between subbing in versus actually having a say in the game planning for the next team. Zappe looks to be a pretty bad relief pitcher, but we know he's 2-0 as a starter.

Again, if it's Mac starting, I'm going to believe as a diehard fan he's going to turn it around, but here's a QB who made it happen in the preseason against guys who made the 53 man roster:

I barely know poop about football, but I know there is this gigantic discrepancy between pass and run blocking. I remember samurai warriors wouldn't move for a heck of a long time not to show their first move, but in the case of the last game, in pass blocking, let's have the OLine sashay 3-4 yds back before making contact with the DL, and for run blocking, let's make the 1st move forward and whiff to have the DL move around us for the easy tackle. I'm ready to drive down 95 to Foxborough to shake someone.

I would be shocked if Bill said anything other than he supports his starter. He never has done otherwise to my knowledge.

This isn't aimed at you, but in reading references on this board to local media's take on Bill's utterances, I'm always surprised the way people take things. I'm not in Boston so I can't listen to local media much, but when I dial in 98.5 on Spotify for Toucher and Rich, I turn it off in under a minute.

It just seems to me there's a lot of anger (even when they were winning) at Belichick's press conferences which is now a point of contention for the fanbase as well. Yet, a Patriot fan from further away, I seem totally outside of what is going on with this aspect. It just doesn't matter to me at all.
I always laugh when I hear some coach/gm/owner gives reassurance that so and so will keep their job as a starter/coach. I mean BB said Cam was the starter literally a week before BB cut him and said Mac was starting.

Teams now know that Corky's a spoiled, gutless, chicken-**** punk-ass ***** and that even the appearance of pressure is enough for her to soil herself.
This is why I still go here... for the pure entertainment. Never change CS.

Here's a recommendation, which I'm not sure why I need to explain. Everyone who hates Mac and Bill, stop yelling and screaming for him to put Zappe in or for Kraft to fire Bill now. You want the team to lose out the rest of the season to get the top pick at the best QB in the draft and most likely to get Bill fired. You want a new GM and coach with tons of cap and the highest pick in the draft to put together the best team for next year. Stop getting mad that it's not getting better and hope that we don't get better. This is the way to get elite talent. This is how you get what you've wanted for many many seasons.
That doesn't sound cathartic. We old people love yelling at clouds (and I'm not actually old... just close to 50).

Does anyone know why the hell Judon isn't on IR yet?

We currently average 11PPG.. thats lower than:

The 0-16 Lions (16.8 PPG)
The 0-16 Browns (14.6 PPG)

I've gone past the angry and sad phases and am onto looking at it in amusement. Start Cunningham, blow it all up.
Yeah - the fall has been so sudden (from 8-9 type team to 1-16) that it's amusing to the point where it's almost as spectacular as Teri Hatcher's talent.
