It’s a funky contract. He can earn $6.5M, but the last $3M in playing time incentives seem to be out of reach with his projected role.

On that note, his snap% did drop (slightly) from 49% in 2020 and 2021 to 44% last year. So you might be on to something here. He probably sees the writing on the wall and wants some of that incentive converted to something more guaranteed. I feel like it's something the team has done for some of their more team-friendly guys in the past, so assuming they think he can still contribute, I'll bet something gets done.

Interesting on the Laurence Guy front. He's not making much, so I can see him trying to use whatever leverage he can to get a new deal. He'll be 35 when his current one expires, and he's unlikely to get anything big on the open market. Curious to see if this is part of a larger play on his part (aka, holding out of actual training camp) or if it's just a "Hey, if you're going to only pay me this much, I'll just save my body the wear and tear."

Guy definitely looked more like an aging player last year.

Interesting in the case of Aaron Dropson a guy who sucked as a player wouldn't surprise me if he turns out to be a good Position Coach.

Dobson actually was decent his rookie season.. his issue was he couldn't stay ob the field..

I know a lot of guys were hoping that Boutte would develop. Not being there is a red flag to me.

Mapu in a LBer number... #52. Do we read into that fact that he's earned that and not stuck with a rookie chitty number?
