Nowhere does it say in that article the Pats have interest. It just says that the Pats are a contending team that needs an upgrade at receiver.

They should make a trade with the Giants but not for Nicks. Offer a low round pick for TE Brandon Myers, he only signed a one year deal with them.

Agreed it never says the Pats are interested. It says they need an upgrade at WR, that's as obvious as saying the sky is blue and my pay is too low.

with the way these Rookies are improving, i'm not sure we need to bring in another WR...Dobson caught 6-10 passes thrown his way and made some nice catches, Thompkins with the game winning TD(4 on the season now. the same amount Lloyd had all year last season) and you've got Edelman, Amendola, Collie, Boyce...collie looks like he can contribute

a pass catching tight end would do wonders...although Hooman did a great job yesterday as a pass catcher. hopefully it wasnt just a "fluke" kind of game and was more of an effort to get the Tight ends involved in the passing game on checkdowns etc.

Scott Piolo just said on the Dan Patrick show that "he knows the Patriots are still looking for WR help via trade" mentioned Hakeem Nicks.

I think Hakeem would succeed in this offense. He's coming from a similar one with Gilbride (in that he is required to read coverages pre snap and be on the same page with eli). Acquiring him would be comparable to acquiring Talib last season in that you have a player with one year on his contract, nagging injuires and would cost a similar pick.

Did anyone listen to Pioli on that show? Did he say they were interested in him or just that Nicks might become available because the Giants suck and he probably won't be resigned next year?

Ok great. What does that have to do with what I responded to with my post? Neither my reply nor the post I replied to was associated with cost, but instead about a guy coming in and picking up the system at this point in the season.

And IMO a second tier WR is not going to bring a 3rd in a league where starting QB's barely bring a late first high second. I could be wrong so I'll believe it when I see it. I think a 4th or 5th maybe packaged with a 7th will get Nicks.

In a defensive year IMO (save DEN and the NFCNorth), you have teams with receivers who are trash (the teams not the receivers) like NYG, PIT, ATL, TB, PHI etc. I doubt they make a trade or Gronk gets healthy this year though, so lets hope we keep this top 5 defense rolling.

I think trading for a TE would be the better move but I could live with a Nicks trade for a 4th. Less sure about a 3rd or higher.

I would absolutely trade a #4 for Nicks.

Whether he's IRed or just out for a while, Amendola needs to go on ice for a while. We aren't winning the SB with these WR.

Fast forward to the playoffs with Nicks and Gronk as the top WR, Edelman doing what he does with KT and Dobson playing as games dictate, I could see us making a serious run.
