Patriots' Hernandez questioned by police in homicide probe

I didnt read the entire thread so Im sorry if someone mentioned this before. I would just point out that Aaron failed a couple drug tests at UF (for marijuana) which was talked about during the combine and caused his draft stock to go down. Whether he still smokes a little every now and then or whether his buddies do I dont know (nor do I care). Complete conjecture, but I highly doubt AH had anything at all to do with a murder and if he was uncooperative it had more to do with making sure there wasn't a "roach" at the bottom of a garbage bag than trying to get rid of bloody clothing and a murder weapon. ..

over paperwork issues.

Claim they'll re-file.

Agree it's likely bogus as no big arrest story.

The first thing I thought of was that weird lawsuit filed against Randy Moss back in 2007.

Try that again: the Pats LOSE $1.5M in cap space in 2013 if they cut/trade him . . . and then they take a $7.5M dead money hit in 2014, too.

Although we are getting way ahead of ourselves here, I am sure the Pats have a morals clause in the contract where they will be able to recoup the signing bonus which I think gives them back at least part of the cap money. I could be wrong about the cap money, but they certainly will be able to go after Hernandez's bonus if he is charged with murder.

Man fatally shot in the head near Aaron Hernandez's rental car, followed by a massive search of his home, the vehicle and possibly his cell phone records. Now, we hear about a dismissed lawsuit and possible settlement in an incident where he is accused of shooting a man in the face.

And people here still in denial. Our little Aaron wouldn't hurt a fly. If he was a Jet, people here would be marching to the NFL offices, demanding a public execution.

We have no idea if they are even look for evidence against Hernandez in his house. Usually when someone is killed, the first person the police look at is the spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend. If she lives with Hernandez, they may be investigating her.

As for the other "shooting", why was there never a criminal investigation and why wasn't Hernandez brought up on charges? And someone pointed out, the suit was dismissed because of a paperwork snafu. I doubt a settlement is made on a case like this 4 days after the suit is filed.

Along with Tebow, there goes that quiet offseason that BB loves...

an important omission: a dismissed CIVIL lawsuit.

Why were there never any criminal charges, if he shot somebody in the face?

sounds sketchy

People should not be allowed to shoot someone in the face and get away with it...

Signed,

**** Cheney.

This means that he almost certainly has some connection to the victim and/or suspects, but assuming that it means he was involved in the crime is a huge leap

the vehicle

Well... yeah. When someone is murdered, you're generally interested in searching the car that their body was found next to

and possibly his cell phone records.

Possibly being the operative word here. We know that the police are searching phone records. Could be Hernandez's, could be the victim's, could be someone else's entirely. So, basically, what you're saying here is completely pointless at best, or more likely it's intentionally misleading.

From TMZ. The case was dismissed, and there's been no settlement.

Has anyone, anywhere on the thread, said anything that even resembles that?

I for one am honest enough to admit that were he a Jet, I would be demanding summary public execution

It does sound sketchy, but then again Hernandez hangs around sketchy people and has shown sketchy behavior. Wouldn't doubt it if he's the one who told the guy not to call police as it could jeopardize his career then promised to pay the guy's medical expenses, but the guy asked for way more than Hernandez agreed to.

All gunshot wounds are investigated by the police. The only way that this wouldn't already be under investigation is if he didn't go to the hospital. Which is unlikely, considering that he apparently lost an eye. If he isn't already being investigation in connection to the shooting, then this whole thing is almost certainly BS. If the evidence was at all compelling that Hernandez shot the guy in the face, then the police would almost certainly have pursued charges against him.

If what's being said is true about Hernandez shooting a guy in the face after an outing at a strip club it's a real shame. I'd have to say he is a complete idiot who is ruining our season before it begins.

The more information that comes out the worse it's starting to look for AH, i hope he gets out of this entirely, but it looks like he's already been enveloped by the web of culpability regarding this murder, even if it wasn't him who killed Odin Lloyd, AH is too close for it not to hurt him at this point.

I am ready to say at this point that if Hernandez escapes this completely unscathed i will be surprised.

Same.

Seriously, though - of course we're going easier on the guy right now because he's a New England Patriot.

the dictionary said:
Fan: A person who has a strong interest in or admiration for a particular sport, art or entertainment form, or famous person.

Naturally, we're inclined to have interest in AHern's fate. Until there's real evidence, why wouldn't we give him the benefit of the doubt? I'm not getting the shock of posters that we're not jumping to conclusions about a Patriots player on a Patriots message-board the way we would about a non-Patriots player.

Greg A. Bedard ?@GregABedard 3m

I was told there was a police report at time of incident but it was resolved quickly. What that means, I don't know.

man everyones ready to hang the guy. Their girlfriends are sisters, he's probably friends with him, could have been hanging out, borrowed AH's car to go out somewhere, drug deal or even just to get a pizza, had a large wad of cash that the wrong people saw, and he got followed/robbed/killed and AH is totally innocent and clueless to the whole situation.

At least thats what I'm holding out hope for and is actually much more likely then AH is stupid enough to kill someone that connected to him 1 mile from his home in a car that's in his own name.
