Patriots Hall of Famer Cole Strange signing to Dolphins active roster

telling that he was not elevated with the Browns

It might be my fault that I cannot for the life of me understand that sentence, but probably not.

Just an old man mis-typing.

It isn't Strange's fault that, after his injuries, he's not enough to make our roster, a team with an incredibly serious need for someone at his position.

Their RG and RT both got hurt. Neither of their own PS options have ever played an NFL game.

Michael Jordan started for the Bucs as a PS elevation on Sunday, by the way. There are already a handful of OLs in rough shape.
Jordan has 33 games in his career he has played 100% of the offensive snaps
he is a proven OG in the league.

I wish him well. I wonder if he still has that little dark cloud hovering over his head.

This seems like a classic "sign a guy from the other team before we play them and then cut them" move

I think after Week 1 weekly salaries for players aren't guaranteed allowing for some situational signings

I'm actually a little surprised we haven't seen more Patriots moves post Week 1, but I guess there's no rush per se

Sorry.

Or they just want to pick his brain about Drake, Josh and the guy who took his job, wait 3 weeks and cut him
That's exactly what they're doing. They'll get the line calls, blocking schemes, etc. Of course the Pats will change things to the degree that's possible, but Miami WILL HAVE insider info. I recall an interview with Marv Levy talking about doing exactly this, and keeping that player next to him the whole game. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Hopefully McDaniels knows enough to use the same calls, but mean different things now. Or feed into it a little to set up the big play. All part of the chess match

I'd still rather have Strange69 ahead of Wallace; but we can't embarrass Eliot like that now, can we...?

Strange was left with the blame of being drafted too soon. He had a decent rookie year and looked like he might be a guy to develop into a good LG over time. Unfortunately he developed into a guy who couldn't stay on the field. And his last injury was a bad one. A patella tendon tear can be a career killer, and when it isn't it can take a long time to fully get over.

First I didn't think Strange looked all that bad this summer, though he clearly wasn't back to where he was pre-tendon injury. He might end up being a nice pick up for the Phins. First for the info he can provide this week, and later on as he gets further and further from the injury and could end up being a decent starter next season.

What's Mia dealing with? Injuries or just crappy guards too?

I assume he's just going to be a back up and could get cut when someone gets healthy or their depth settles?

What I see is Miami looking like how we looked last year. Far worse than us this year even. Just terrible. But I’m sure we will at least split with them so that means we are as bad in reality…gonna be a long year isn’t it? And not playoff > sb long…

Pats OL needs to be challenged publicly or something. They need to come out on fire and maul that Dolphins DL.
We have to run 70 yards on 10 plays for our first possession.
