Especially if the reports that Wolf loved JJ weren’t fake.

If Wolf “ loved” McCarthy he would have taken him.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to Bourne Again? He was the biggest McCarthy fan on this board, although he went back and forth between take McCarthy and trade out of 3 and take Penix or Nix later, throughout the process. I haven’t seen him since the Draft. I’m assuming he’s heartbroken they didn’t follow his dreams. Other than Maye and Daniels he wanted every QB in this draft, even Rattler.

Disagree completely. They had just fired the guy running everything after 33 years, we’re heading into a really important offseason, and needed continuity in the front office to make decisions their staff had been working on since last year. And trying to interview for that role when they are in the middle of their current teams offseason moves is really problematic.
They were already doing interviews for Highsmith, for McAdoo, for AVP. The notion that they couldn't do interviews at a time that they were doing interviews doesn't really work. The interviews for GM would have been a sham anyway as Curran was reporting that they had already made the decision for Mayo and Wolf to run things during the season.

Those interviews were for lower positions than a GM. I’m not certain but I would think that the GM candidates were higher up in their respective organizations, but I basically agree that they had already decided on Mayo and Wolf.

That's the thing. If they already had made up their minds, they could interview almost anyone to satisfy Rooney Rule and install Wolf as GM (or Executive Vice President). So why didn't they? That's the question being asked now in NFL circles because typically right after the season is when teams interview for these positions:
"So I think there are people in football now who look at it and say that excuse of we just didn't want to do too much all at the same time as an illegitimate one because they had plenty of time to go through a proper process at the more typical time, and they opted not to. If they're getting criticized, whether it's in the league or in the media, etc., I think it's fair because the timing of this does not make much sense at all."

Changed his profile name, now "Love The Drake"

I think Mayo is tuned into Mayes mindset and knows he wants to compete to play.
Plus as a previous all pro player he is always going to see it thru the eyes of the player.
Also Mayo may feel Maye can be ready, maybe he’s impressed Mayo with his maturity and how he’s taken to coaching that Maye is accelerating his

Could also be the Krafts preferring Maye to play to fill seats and sell more jerseys.

This is what scares me.

Ownership should never, Ever make personnel decisions unless it involves a big-ticket free agent or something like that.

Lmao- seriously?

Yep...I mean I recently changed mine too....I had moved states twice since I originally signed up here, and the "SE" wasn't relevant anymore....I use a version of this across a bunch of boards, I don't remember why I used the SEPatsFan on Patriots sites anymore.
