When he's one of your best defensive players at a position with little depth behind him in a position group that's supposed to be a strength - YES. We're judging one full game and a few preseason snaps in a 16 game season? If he gets traded, I'll be the first to say I was flat wrong. But until then, I just don't see it. The defense gave up 42 points. Whatever front seven player or package they'd hope to acquire via trade would have to be something absolutely incredible to part with Malcolm Butler. Slump or not, he's still been one of the most consistent defensive players and we'll need that moving forward. Is it that far fetched to consider trading someone, who by all accounts, doesn't appear interested in remaining here and already tried leaving once?
I have no doubt the Patriots are seeking upgrades for their Front 7. I would not put it past Belichick to trade Butler if the return is right (and assuming he's confident in the depth behind Gilmore and Rowe)
