For example, 1980 is the first year of the eighties. 1989 is the last year.

The argument is that there is no year zero so the first decade was 1-10, and so forth.

I’m not sure what any of those things have to do with the argument some people make that a de axe should go 0-10 instead of 1-9. I happen to disagree with them but their logic that there was no year Zero seems sensible to me
