Patriots do not face an Elite QB in the entire 2012 season

Eh.

The Patriots could also have 6 Super Bowl victories at this point were not for velcro hat, ridiculous OIP against Troy Brown, and ball going through Wes Welker's fingers.

It cuts both ways.

I mentioned this on Sunday morning, but having watched the other Super Bowl wins this weekend, the Patriots had the bounces against the Rams and Panthers. Those games could have been losses.

Exactly! Many games are won and lost on a handful of plays. Even if the Pats lost to the Ravens, they proved they could take take it down to the wire with the best team in the AFC. Since they did win, they showed that they were evenly matched with both the Ravens and the Giants and only a play or two separated the Pats from either of those teams.

Well, there's only about 5 elite quarterbacks in the NFL and we have one of them.

I was thinking the same thing.....if Peyton Manning doesn't return to form or at all..who are the elite qbs?

Tom Brady
Aaron Rodgers
Drew Brees
Eli Manning

anyone else?

And the Pats would have won the Super Bowl if Welker caught the catch on the 20 or one of the force fumbles bounced the right way or the Pats didn't have 12 men on the field on the one force fumble they recovered. If that was the case, the Pats would have been 3-1 in the the last 4 playoff appearances with a Super Bowl ring.

And you would be more miserable than you are now because you wouldn't be able to do your "I told you so that Belichick screwed up the draft" crap you have been doing the last two days.

We're talking Elite QB's and regular season vs preparing for post season point , not draft, wake up and READ

Ok for your myopic view...facts dont change...Pats are 2-2 in last 4 home playoff games

1 lucky win against ravens
1 win against a 9-7 garbage Broncos team

1 blowout loss vs Jets 28-14
1 blowout loss vs Ravens 33-14

Satisfied..

EDIT: and if you really want to talk the draft, 2 SB losses where BB's vaunted Defensive schemes and plethora of draft picks outsmarting 31 teams in draft landed a Defense that could not stop Manning once, knowing he had no running game !

Elite QB topic aside..... I think the Patriots schedule,at least on paper is going to be one of the 5 easiest schedules next season.

For a team trying to be the first losing SB team to return to the Super Bowl the next season since the 94 Bills,it is exactly what the team needs in terms of opponents.

Who cares what happened in the 2009 season in 2012? That playoff game was with a completely different team with Welker out with an ACL. Even last year, Brady was playing with a broken finger. We all know from everything we have learned after the fact that the 2009 team had a lot of bad eggs and uncoachable players. That is on Belichick, but to his credit he cleaned house without making this team a .500 or below team.

The fact of the matter is the Pats were a couple of minutes away from winning this past Sunday. If you want to play the what if game with the Ravens, if Welker catches that pass on the 22 on the second to last drive, the Pats probably win the Super Bowl. That is one play that changed the course of the game. You can point to about three or four other plays that you could do that with. The Pats took the Super Bowl champs down to the wire.

This season was a success any way you want to cut it. They went to the Super Bowl which is more than 30 other teams can say.

in my book Ben is better than Eli.............

Good thing the defense can practice against an elite QB. Not the same as gamespeed, but pretty good.

Eli will be the last Elite QB the Pats D will face until at least January of 2013

The schedule for next season looks to be one of the easiest on paper at least based on final standings, but what is for sure are the QBs the team faces are most average to below average passers.

While the team usually struggles against non name QBs there is no HOFer next season on the schedule with the only real QBs with any minor type of pedigree are Matt Schaub and Joe Flacco.

If there is a silver lining to look at,its next seasons schedule

It doesn't matter.

That pass defense would make even Rex Grossman look elite.

Can I borrow your time machine? The Powerball jackpot is like $200 million and I want to get the numbers.

How do you know what the Pats' pass defense will look like next year. You doom and gloomers are pretty pathetic if are going to trash Belichick for failing to improve the defense before even free agency begins.

we will face the Dolphins twice, with their QB Peyton Manning....

Terrible post. We don't know who will emerge as an elite QB next year or might have a great season. We also don't know that Manning won't be in the AFC East.

I really hate when people say the regular season does not matter..well, guess what. It does. It matters more than the post season. Just because they are the patriots, does not give them a free ride to the playoffs. They need a good regular season in order to get to the playoffs. So there for, as of this moment, the regular season is more important.

And no I do not want them to face tough QBs, I'd like a path to the superbowl playing the bottom 16 qb, and teams in the league.

No...yours is a terrible post

You don't become an Elite QB in one season,it takes years of great play ....based on the schedule there is no Elite QB on that list of teams.

Sam Bradford and Matt Ryan had one great season...they aren't elite.

I don't expect our secondary to be the laughingstock and the bottom barreled section of the league again....at least there better not be or its time for Bill to hire a highly profiled DC.

Matt Schaub is a heck of alot better than Joe Flacco.

What??? you don't consider the Sanchise Elite?

The schedule is a joke and will most likely be a joke during the season. We have a high chance of facing Peyton Manning though. (Seahawks, Jets, Colts, Dolphins, Cardinals)

Yeah, I get your point. But with most of the elite QBs in the NFC, the Pats might not face an elite QB until the Super Bowl if they were to get that far.

So we can run through poor offenses and then choke in another SB, great my heart is so ready.

At this point I just want entertaining games, nothing makes sense anymore when a 9-10 win team can just walk in and hold us to 14-17. Ugh I can't take another one.
