Saw this on Reddit, cross posting to here - the Patriots are averaging 2.4 seconds in the pocket per PFR, good for 12th - a time shared by about 5 other teams.

Interesting, as this would suggest the disaster ain't just at OL. I understand this isn't anything revelatory, we're all aware of how slow Brissett is in his reads. Just thought it was an interesting stat.

If you go to the website, go to the stats and then click the "Pressure" tab and you'll then see the "PktTime" column.

Note that this could change once it’s updated with the MNF data. PFR’s advanced stats often have incorrect results early in the week, like here where last night’s 4 QBs have two games worth of time in the pocket divided by three games worth of attempts.

Yeah, there is a disclaimer on the page that says that the stats are updated on Wednesday's and that the stats shown right now are through Week 2. If the Patriots don't drop drastically after it is updated tomorrow, I would question the validity of this stat. The Jets pass rushers were living in the pocket.

Are you suggesting our man @Vindicate (big fan of his work btw) may have suffered an episode of premature elucidation?

There are special stats for those who see what they want to see. I suggest that you consult such a set or compose your own.

Check percentage of pressures and time available with Qb's with similar situations. Does Bissett do worse, better or about the same?

We've got lots of time. We can check the stats again on TH or FRI or any week until Maye starts.

My notion is that other QB's who have similar amounts of time and number of pressures do better than Jacoby for a very obvious reason. They are much better QB's than Brissette.

And yes, other QB's would be much more successful if they played for us as a replacement for Brissette.

It seems like Brissett has been very good at moving in the pocket to avoid sacks. Does that count as pressure or not because he avoided the contact?
