Patriots 5 1/2 Point Favorites at Denver

Yes the Bears shot themselves in the foot. As did other teams. But that's the point, that's the magic of Tebow, the mystique. Teams do that against his team, it's divine intervention in some way.

Or maybe it's not. Maybe it's just luck. It's more fun to believe in Santa Claus than not though.

Anyway, it will be a great game. It's very possible that his run/pass/option confuses our hapless defense. We'll see. I'm looking forward to a great game.

Looks like Vegas is hooking people in with a spread that leaves a potential 4rth quarter "Tebow time" comeback possibility to weigh on their minds. Smart fellas, just under 2 field goals. Wonder if The 59 yarder sparked this magic number 5 1/2

confusing spread

Should have kept the original thread title. That had a much better feel to it.

"Tell Tim Tebow that Sheriff Brady is coming to town"

I've got nothing against Tim Tebow. What he and Denver are doing right now is special. But I have no desire to see the Pats lose to Mr. Tebow. Not to mention I think you have to give the defense as much or MORE credit for winning those games as Tebow.

In other words, let's see a Pats victory next week! If the game is close, then it will definitely be very uncomfortable! But a blowout would make things much easier on the heart. I don't think we will see a blowout though. Not unless we manage to find some hole to exploit in the Denver defense.

Right Andy, because any team that just had incredibly sub-par efforts with teams that were a combined 4-21 in the past 2 weeks should feel incredibly optimistic about going out to Mile Hile, where they have generally had problems...

For what it's worth, I too think that N.England wins this game by at least 14-17 points; but you can't find fault in those who are a bit leery, can you?

Even for you, this post is god awful stupid.

When is the last time the Patriots won there? Feels like a long time, although perhaps I'm forgetting a game or something. I remember there was a game where Belichick took a safety deliberately late even though losing because field position was so crappy, and they ended up winning, but that game might have been in NE.

I kind of think the Patriots are going to need a decent margin late. Taking away the whole mystique nonsense, the reality is that Tebow's late game passing stats are too good to be ignored and it's getting to the point where there probably isn't a small sample size issue. I think at this point there is good evidence to conclude that Tebow is very effective at adjusting during the game. Unless you're inclined toward supernatural theories, his 4th quarter numbers are too good to ignore that simple reality. Put that together with our depleted and yardage challenged defense and playing at altitude and only the second game outside the eastern time zone this year, and I think the fourth quarter could be messy if the Pats don't have a good lead.

That game with the Safety was in 2003..In Denver and on MNF

Instead of blowing them out...

I'd rather see Tebow driving for the tying score with a minute left in the game, when Devin McCourty steps in front of Eric Decker and picks off an off-target pass for six points.

That would make my week.

But blowing them out is okay too.

Brady always struggles in Denver, and the Broncos pass rush is legit with Miller and Dumervil.

I won't be shocked if this game is close.

Even for you, this post is god awful stupid.

Your tasteless and immature comments are making quite a reputation for yourself.

You are definitely one of the downfalls of this site, as a high number of posters have pointed out.

You have no logic or insightful things to contribute, only personal attacks against anyone who disagrees with you...I am downright shocked that you are even still allowed to continue this.

For what it worth, no one else has had even the slightest problem with me on any level in years, and I am known as one of the most polite posters here.

It must be a Pittsburgh thing....or maybe just a classless thing.

And just out of curiosity, what is so "stupid" about it?

We just had TWO supbar performances in a row to teams that are the laughingstocks of the league, and have a combined 4-21 record (winning percentage in the teens.)

Both games went down to the very last minute of the game.

There's also the fact that this team struggles at Mile Hile stadium in Denver.

What's so bad about pointing out the fact that we shouldn't take offense to those who aren't feeling as optimistic about the game as others?

AndyJohnson didn't have the slightest problem with it, because he knows that there is no bad intention in the slightest form, and we have a fine posting relationship. If Andy needs him to stick up for you, I would imagine that he will ask for it.

Right Andy, because any team that just had incredibly sub-par efforts
I'm not sure how winning is "incredibly subpar"

with teams that were a combined 4-21 in the past 2 weeks
Not sure how having a game wrapped up 31-3 with 19 minutes left is a bad game.
Not sure why you expect team like Washington to roll over.

should feel incredibly optimistic about going out to Mile Hile, where they have generally had problems...
Generally had problems with? With different coach and players? Are you afraid that there is a mystical force at work?
By the way what does any of this have to do with my post?

?????????????????????

Not sure what you are asking?

I stated that I do think that we win by double digits, but you can't fault those who aren't feeling as optimistic as others.

It doesn't matter what the score of the Indy game WAS, it mattered that it took a recovered onsides kick with less than a minute to win it. The same thing happened last week with a game saving pick at the 5 yd line.

If these past 2 games instill confidence in you going to a place where we normally have struggles, then more power to you...but I don't see how it's any kind of stretch to think that not everyone will agree with you.

We were on our way to another SB win in the 2006 AFCCG at Indy too.

The score was 21-3 at the half.

Do we get bonus points for that?

Re: Tell Tim Tebow that Sheriff Brady is coming to town

Enough already.

The Chicago Bears shot themselves in the butt in regulation with the stupid play to stop the clock and the fumble in overtime inside field goal range. Idiots adding fuel to the Tim Tebow fire.
No Jay Cutler and no Matt Forte equals no offense for the Chicago Bears.

Any questions?

Re: Looking ahead: Keys to beating the Broncos

Feel free to share your key(s) to the game.
Once the Keystone Cops routine finally ends in the New England Patriots defensive secondary, the New England Patriots should be able to win the game at Mile High Stadium against the "exalted one".

Once people realize that professional football is a sixty minute game then the "selective memory syndrome" currently ongoing on the PatsFans message board will cease.

People are not looking at this game from the Denver O perspective.

If they have many 3 and outs in the first three quarters just like the rest of their wins, can they be confident the Pats and Brady will not make them pay?

I'm looking forward to this game more than most.

I'm looking forward to the game too, and feel that there's no reason why N.England shouldn't win by at least 14 pts.

But you can't necessarily fault those who don't have as much confidence, due to the circumstances. You at least have to respect their thoughts that the last 2 games against crappy competition were a lot closer than they should have been, and that the team generally has struggled at Mile Hile stadium in the thinner air--that was my only point.

I'm a huge Tebow fan every weekend except this one. The easiest way to make the Raiders' 2nd round pick better is for them to not make the playoffs.
