Patriot Announce 2024 Captains

Gotta wonder whose rice bowl Dugger pissed in to have Peppers chosen ahead of him...

I refuse to believe Jacoby was made a captain without some BS influence.
He is the starting QB - he was easily the surest one to be captain. A starting QB would have to be a horribe teammate to not make captain.

He is also a well liked dude so there was zero chance he was not going to be captain as the starter.

Electing a stable pony captain says it all

One year contract, likely to be demoted sooner rather than later.....

We Ass Pep is clearly superior to Uncle Dugg in Every Single Facet of the game. I'm glad that neither Dugger, doGchow, Schooler, Jalopy Tavai or Onemenu were named captains either.

Dugger was originally drafted by the Pats, had far and away the highest snap count on the team last year and he's been here longer. From a defensive standpoint those are fairly decent captain type bonafides.

Captains are voted on by the players, and doesn't always equate to the best players. Judon was arguably their best defender for the past three years, but was never voted a captain. David Andrews is never their best OL from a talent standpoint, but he's always a captain. And some guys (like Dugger and Gonzalez it seems so far) are more quiet players, who go about their business and lead by example. Voted captains are more likely to be rah rah guys, like Slater, McCourty, Hightower and in the older days Bruschi, Harrison, etc.

I have zero problem with any of these choices. Bentley, Wise, and Andrews were captains last year so it makes sense they are again. Peppers is a good player and vocal leader who players seem to like. Brissett is the starting QB, which is almost a captain by default (unless they're a rookie). You want at least one special teams captain, and Cardona has been here the longest.

Was thinking the same. Maybe Dug doesn’t care…IDK.

Worst in the NFL, maybe all of pro sports.
that title belongs to ravens/cardinals
I'd say the Pats are in the top 5 worst. Falcons have really bad uniforms as do the Titans, Commanders, Cardinals and the team that copied their 2000 look the Texans.

Ravens have a pretty clean look when it's not the black or purple monochrome uniforms,

How do you like how Wise is still a team captain? Remember how that was talked about when he was first named?

You are right. By default, he should be named Captain based on his snap count. But as Captain Stone pointed out, Peppers is the better player as Dugger was graded out as having his worst season since his rookie year. It's really bizarre Dugger got paid what he did given there was no market for him.
