Evans and Mills have different skill sets, though I can see Mills picking up what Evans does easier than the other way around.

They're both big guys who catch passes.

Evans doesn't run with much power for a guy 250 and isn't a real smashmouth blocker either.

Mills is too small for TE in the NFL, so his position is supposed to be ..fullback.

It goes without saying he has yet to prove he can do the parts of the job, blocking and running, that Evans has proved he's not very good at.

They're both one dimensional, pass catching fullbacks IMO, for what little they actually play.

Pass is such a baby. And he is immature.

Pass will not play for the NEP again (caveat, no RBs or Hill gets injured soon)
Am I the only one who doesn't know what this means? If not Marquise, then what Hill are you talking about?

I'm so confused.

I don't disagree with anything you say, but still think Evans and Mills are not interchangeable, and it is not odd that both would make the team. I also think that Evans has topped out, and as I said, that Mills can learn to do what Evans does in time. Evans is likely only here until Mills matures. 6-1 is on the small side for a TE, but sometimes ability to catch a ball is more important than being tall but not catching it. Spencer Nead was a pretty big guy.

Mills is young. If he can add some bulk he'll be fine.

As an inveterate supporter of Patrick,
let me try to put a positive spin on this.

For a perennial bubble player to thumb his nose thusly at the team
is a remarkably brave assertion of his opinion.

I'm still at a loss to understand how folks know that he is expressing an opinion?

Even if he was making a statement, I fail to see how it is a big deal to BB & Co., this isn't a mutiny, just a little grumbling that won't amount to much as the season progresses. If there is no room for some internal grumbles the organization is done anyway.

Do you know what he is asserting? Is he upset with Deion for wanting to leave? Upset with the Pats for trading him instead of letting Deion hold out until week ten? Is he asserting the opinion that ... I don't know, you tell me, because I don't understand why he is wearing a No. 83 skullcap, and what he hopes to acomplish by it.

I tend to agree with you Box. Most likely, we won't know for sure until he explains, this is a statement by Pass that he's not pleased with the FO's decision to trade his friend. That is all. Can there be no dissent in the lockerroom? Does every player have to agree with every personnel decision by the club? If you're going to start releasing players because of small protests like these, then you'll have a depleted roster. It's best for BB to take Pass's antics with a grain of salt and forget about it in this case. Pass and the rest of the disappointed teammates will be over the Branch trade once a significant winning streak is started. That's all BB has to wait for.

I don't see what the hysteria is all about. You think all the Patriots players are never supposed to talk to Branch again? You don't think those that were his friends won't still be his friends? And won't care who knows it? I'd guess Brady still talks on cells with him and probably doesn't care who knows it. BB would expect it and I don't think he'd care one way or the other. BB will make a decsion on Pass based on what he thinks is best for the team. Ths reminds me of all those who were positive Ty Law would be gone after calling BB a liar.

Maybe Pass and Branch went to Band Camp and Pass looked at Branch and said hey that's a real neat Trumpet you got there can I blow it and Branch said sure. I think that is why this fellows have such a strong bond.

He just needs to toot his own horn from now on.
