I disagree with your definition of hospital ball, period. That ball was caught on the run, Gronk didn't have to wait for it with a defender lining him up, the shot came from the side, it was low, dirty and could not have been anticipated. It was the antithesis of a hospital ball and the definition of a dirty hit. If you want examples of hospital balls watch what Manning did to Welker. Brady does as good a job of throwing his guys away from trouble as any QB I have seen outside of maybe Unitas, he was a master.
