Our Defense is NOT Loaded; our BACKUPS are weak.

Hunter is a LB they only have 4 edge players i think a 5th would be nice and maybe when Landry comes back the pats could sneak that 5th guy on their own PS
Look at the unofficial depth chart on patriots.com and you’ll find Hunter listed outside.

Depth chart may be unofficial but it’s on the team site so it’s as credible as anything not signed by Vrabel.

And they can only sign either of the players you listed to the 53, not the PS. Them’s the rules.

Most likely imo is when Landry comes back Hunter goes to PS. Maybe somebody else if he balls out before that, but that’s unlikely.

Yea teams do that all the time. Gamesmanship. Every other website has him at LB lions had him at LB played LB in college Hes 225-230 pounds thats a big safety small LB let alone a small edge. Yea he could play some snaps at edge in certain situations but hes not an actual every down edge player. Someone that can go toe to toe with a tackle get to the qb stop the run.

Chad muma had some size if the Pats wanted a LB type edge or malik harrison now on the giants PS would be worth a look but hunter will get ran over. Maybe 3rd and longs but even then pats would have to run a twist or stunt to give him a free lane

I would be comfortable with the edge depth...if and only if, Landry is able to return to his pre injury self, and Jacas can be the player that his position coach says he can be. if both happen, along with Jones, Ponder and Hutchens, thats a really nice group.

ILB has me concerned in either Spillane or Elliss miss any time

Hunter is listed at 224 lbs
thats pretty light for either edge or inside.

the Muma train left the station

Yea thats basically what I'm saying. I just used muma as an example of the type of player that could get some looks at edge
My point was Anthony lucas has some potential 265 pounds strong 85' wing span
Mason reiger too 250 plus explosive 40 vertical quick too to me these are good developmental type players at edge
Pats have a good group but 1 injury there down to 3 players until Landry comes back

Let’s play at least one game before deciding the guys we have need to be replaced.

Better to be early than late. 1 injury down to 3 edge players. Would be intelligent to have a plan. Not argue for the sake of arguing

The depth chart is not from the team it’s from the writers on the website. IRS often very wrong.

I dont know how the post week 1 additions subtractions work but S john saunders jr is still a free agent. Makes no sense hes not atleast on a practice squad somewhere. I think the pats add him to the 53 after week 1
He’s not good enough for ANY practice squad.

Vrabel has4-5 on the roster he likes
