OT: Wrecks joins BSPN

Yeah -- for those of us who don't watch ESPN, can you summarize what Wrecks said or give a pointer to a YouTube of it?

ultimate nightmare?

uhh, if your ultimate nightmare is some assclown that ruined two different afc east teams, taking a job at a tv network you shouldn't be watching, I'd love to sign over to you some of my nightmares.

Actually this is exactly where Ryan belongs. Its been proven that his place certainly wasn't on the sidelines being a HC. I expect he will be entertaining and sometimes even inciteful at BSPN. I look forward to seeing what he has to offer when someone posts a clip of him in action. I certainly won't be watching him on TV.

Nice double entendre PFK. I expect the same and believe this is where Rex belonged the whole time. I look forward to him as an analyst.

I think this is going to be great! Wrecks is extremely entertaining and though he may not like the Pats, it certainly seems like he has a healthy respect for the way that they are run. Hopefully he can give us some insight into Belichick and the way that he runs things.

I guess it could be worse..They coulda hired brunnel to cry on tv some more.

Still not watching LOL.

At a time when they're running in losses and letting people go, they hire Rex. Sums up ESPN.

seriously.... how can they ever afford all the "goddamn snacks" they will now need?

Instead of wasting every waking moment fretting about his inevitable defeats to Bill, his new gig allows plenty of quality time for beautifully pedicured de feets.

I was much more uncomfortable when they hired Ray Lewis, who once killed a guy as I understand it.

What made you uncomfortable....the killing or him talking to no one in someone's mom's garage?

To be fair to many analysts on all the networks, they are often told to keep it dumb because the suits are deathly afraid that people will turn off in droves if they ever get remotely technical or spend more than several seconds explaining something.

A perfect example of that is Jaworski's time on ESPN MNF. As anyone who saw the old Matchup shows knows, Jaws knows his stuff. Yet when he was on MNF he was just another garden-variety moron. It's not like he forgot anything -- he was ordered to be like that.

Also partly the reason why NFL Playbook was cancelled on NFLN. People have zero attention spans these days, so shows like this one that delve deep into the intracacies of plays and how they develop don't sit well with the HAWT TAKEZZZZZ shows du jour. That's why there are more panel shows than single host shows as well. Shame.

Which is really too bad. When NFLN came into being I hoped that with 24 hours in a day to fill that there'd be a bunch of "technical" shows for football nerds, even if they only aired overnight and you had to record them.

Sadly, no.

I'd also love (but I know it'd never happen) for NFLN (or the networks themselves) to have an alternate set of commentators at select games (preferably all games) who didn't dumb things down and you could use the SAP audio feature of broadcasts to listen to them instead of the regular commentators.

Awesome

can't wait to hear his commentary on the Pats

With all the podcasting going on now, I'm amazed there's no one doing this.
