While I have no link to back this up, I just heard on WFAN that Michael Strahan has told the Giants he will be retiring. I have not seen this reported elsewhere yet so I cannot verify.

I know Strahan likes to play this game till Training Camp is over, but I figured I would post this because it's good to have some new threads

Guy left on an amazing note and I'm sure I speak for us all when I say thank god we'll never have to see him again.

Can't fault a guy for going out on top.

He's had a great career, and should do well after football. Is he a future HOF'er?

Terry

I'm sure he is, had 141.5 sacks in his career, set the single season record on that gimme-sack by Favre and has a Super Bowl ring. He's as good a defensive end as there was in the late 90s and this decade

Strahan is a great player and congrats to him for leaving on top.

IMO he is a good player, not great.. Not a HOF imo, he was more style than substance.. His mouth is maybee why Im not a fan..

Great Player,Great career and probably a HOFer

Glad to see he won a championship before he retired,Just sucks that it was at the expense of the Patriots that he got it.

The Dallas Cowboys are jumping up and down with joy as thier chances of winning the division just shot up a bit.

Who is going to replace him? Kind of seems like he left his team high and dry by retiring after the draft.

They'll probably move Kiwanuka, who was knocked out for the year in October, back to DE from LB, where he was bad anyway. Umenyora, Tuck, and Kiwanuka at DE is just fine. I honestly don't think this is that big of a loss for them.

This statement is just wrong. The guy had 141+ career sacks and owns the regular season record in sacks. Let's not forget that the Giants sucked pretty bad most of the years he played there either. I hate the guy but I have to admit that he was a great football player and has a sure-fire ticket to Canton.

You are correct here.

But not here.

He didn't leave them high and dry as they have drafted two dlinemen the past few years. And his not retiring actually had them playing out of position, one at DT and the other at LBer. Now while both have shown talent Tuck more than Kiwanuka nether has proven they can be Strahan but that is the way it works. Not like he pulled a TJ (not that TJ had a choice).

The Cowboys need a clutch QB. When Romo evolves into that, then there will be the Jumping for Joy.

Personally, I can't stand "America's Team" and hope they implode.

That's harsh, I know. But it is what it is.

Not on the field, but I'm sure we'll be seeing enough of his ugly, gap-toothed face on TV.

I said he is good, he is not as great as they are making him out to be by the drive by media heads...
