OT- Ways to fix ESPN

Stuart "Every time I use slang that isn't really slang outside the ESPN offices, my head grows another size" Scott.

ESPN started going once their catch phrases became hot. Back in the early 90s, it was just Patrick, Olbermann, Kilborn, etc. having fun. They'd narrate SportsCenter in an entertaining fashion that related to the fans. When "en fuego", etc. became popular, the new anchors all had to have their own catch phrases, and SportsCenter became a parody of itself. It became more about ESPN than the games, and that's why we have what we have today. I think ESPN does some GREAT features, but I long for the early 90s, when they told me what I didn't know. I don't want to watch as they set up some situation in a 'reality TV' sort of way. I do want to watch an insightful feature giving me information I didn't know. The old Outside the Lines programs were the best shows I can remember. More of that, less "BOOYAH!"
