Weren't you furious about the block Bobby Wade made on Rodney Harrison last year? One other thing I have to add--I dunno about you, but personally, I think that being called for taunting an unconscious person should be grounds for ejection.
Competitiveness or no, Trent Green wasn't even moving at the time.
It was unintentional, so there won't be any suspension (and probably not even a fine) over the hit itself, but if I coached Houston, I'd fine him a game check (minimum) for that post-hit #@!#.

No you're not missing the point necessarily. I mean it's one thing to be upset about the low block, but to stand over a guy who is literally lifeless and yell (most like obsenities) at a guy who's unconcious, what kind of person does that?
I don't care about my post count. What I do care about is my integrity as a person,a fan,and a member of this board. When I went back and read what I wrote I was embaressed,it came off like I was happy the Green got hurt. That was never my intent. I am not sure with out looking how many posts I've written. But this is the first I've ever deleted. Its also the first post that anyone has commented negativley about. I went back reread it,found it coming off in poor taste and got ride of it.Everyone makes mistakes, what seperates thoses who make the mistakes is how they handle the adversity of makeing the mistake. If I make a mistake I own it. As far as jumping on a guy for calling me a loser. He obviously hasn't been around long enough to throw those kind of accusations around. I doubt if he has read many,or even any of my posts. So he made a judgement on one post. Nothing like a rush to judgment. When I critisized someone for constantly attacking anyone that didn't aggree with them at least I read 6-8 of that persons posts before I called him on his behavior..regardless of your intent, your original comment was in very poor taste. If that's what it takes to get a post count above 1500, I hope I never get there. Jumping on the new guy is like coming home from work and kicking the dog because you had a bad day at work.
I used to joke with you about Green not lasting the season because of concussions, but I have to admit I never imagined a hit like that to Greens head. Its football and people are flying around making split second decisions. So I beleive its nobodys fault I just hope Green recovers and retires.Miami's going no where. Another hit like that could be a very serious threat to Greens health. I think its time to put Beck in,and see what he has.Yeah reports said Cam Cameron visited Green in the hospital immediately after the game and in talking to him you couldn't tell that anything had even happend to him.
I can't defend Trent for going low on Johnson, he probably shouldn't have done it. But Johnson should keep his head on a swivel, what if that was a big LT and the LT had just laid him out and Johnson got the concussion?
I don't know, the whole situation prior to the taunt is a little fuzzy certainly with shades of grey but when he got up there's no way he didn't see Green completely limp. To bounce up, see that, and react the way he did; total classlessness.
Yes. But this wouldn't be the first time that NFL coaches have minimized the seriousness of concussion because they have an interest in seeing a player back on the team. In rugby, when a player has a concussion, he has to sit out for three weeks -- and no nonsense about whether the concussion is "major" or "minor". The NFL's doctors have, by contrast, been far too reluctant to assert the interests of their patients, rather than following the interests of the team. For a guy who has already had one serious brain injury to continue playing after another strikes me as folly.
Oh, and in other news, I don't think that Dierdorf referring to Green as the definition of competitiveness is too bad. What about the announcer who was covering the Colts-Bucs game who said (and indeed repeated) that Jeff Garcia's "unmeasurables are off the charts"? Now that's what I call stupid.
It's not Beck time just yet. He was inactive today and that tells me he isn't fully in grasp of the playbook yet. He'll be there real soon, he has the right attitude about it and today after one series Lemon sat on the bench and Beck almost beat his butt to the pine with photos and a playbook and immediately started asking questions. This kid has the right attitude and will be a good QB, I can say that with confidence and sincerity.
You're wrong, the NFL said the hit was clean. Do you want him to attempt to block a guy 100 pounds heavier then him high?
The block was fine. Oh no, don't go after the opposing player's knees! Maybe they should just play flag football. Oh, wait, that might be dangerous, someone might get kicked going after a flag, and you still have to block. How about two hand touch? Nah, still a risk of injury. Let's just play the NFL season out on Madden. Even then, risk of carpal tunnel or something.
Travis Johnson is a prick for taunting a guy who was unconscious. The fact that you guys are defending him for doing it simply because Trent Green is a Miami Dolphin are pretty sad; Green probably doesn't remember half his childhood by now (you're talking about lifestyle changing injuries...). So what, he went after his knees? Like Green said, Johnson's 100 lbs+ heavier than him; THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE TAUGHT TO DO. That's how you play football, folks! And nothing happened to Johnson, in the end. Green was hardly attempting to injure him.
If this was Brady you'd be screaming for Johnson's head. I would too. Give me a break.
if it was Brady, I'd call him an idiot for trying to take down a 400 pound behemoth by the knees with his head.
If you don't want to hurt your head, then quit driving it into other player's knees.
The only place you're supposed to stick your head is on (1) the ball, or (2) the numbers of the man you're drive blocking. The block was fine. Oh no, don't go after the opposing player's knees! Anything else is a concussion or fractured vertebrae waiting to happen.
