TO Simmering slowly

1. Add TO to Dallas Cowboys mixture
2. Simmer slowly over low performance level
3. Gradually add Romo -> Crayton, stirring well
4. Ignite with losing streak

Enjoy your flambé! Serves 53.

It is a very bad sign for any team when their HC is concerned about trying to get someone the ball more.

Did you hear BB quickly correct one of the media members when they said, "now I know that you are trying to get Randy the ball and.." BB jumpen in and said, "I never said that" And then Bill made some comments that made it clear that they were trying to score, and win the game and that it didn't matter who, what, when or how they did it.

He was adamant.

This is because Moss has enough confidence in himself and has figured out, "Hey, if I play right and get open, I'll get my passes." Too bad TO can't figure this out. If he was open and could catch the ball consistently, more balls would probably be thrown his way. Grow up TO. The fans are tired of your act.

I don't think it's about growing up or maturity or any of that. The difference between Moss and TO is that Moss is not mentally imbalanced. I really feel that TO has some serious issues.

He is going to melt down at some point this season if things go bad.

After the reaction of some of the Cowboys after the game (re: Crayton, Owens), I expect Dallas to eventually implode this season. They'll still make the play-offs because they play in the NFC, but their comments indicate to me that this is a team that just doesn't get it yet. They think they'll win just because everyone says their good, and are in denial when they don't.

When the Pats lost to St Louis in the regular season in 2001, in a game which could have turned out differently, whereas they also gained some confidence in how they might fair in another game against the Rams, they did not disrespect that they nonetheless lost to the a powerful team, but instead went back to the classroom and worked even harder. I don't see this in Dallas.

Meanwhile, 5 Rams were carted off the field that night, and Mike Martz told his team that they might meet the Pats again.

True story! :rocker:

I really think you are on the money.

Moss wants to be successful and be part of a winning environment. Put him in a situation with inept and unmotivated people, and he withdraws. Why put himself on the line when it won't make a difference. Not noble but not a surprising human reaction. I would think a majority of people in their chosen profession would behave similarly (I can't even eliminate myself if the situation were bad enough).

TO is different. He also wants to be successful and be part of a winning environment, but it has to be on his terms. The people around him can dance however they want, but he has to control the music. When the music inevitably changes, it eats away at TO in an unhealthy way. His lack of personal responsibility prohibits him from managing these feelings and eventually he unleashes them on the "conductors"...the QB and the coaching staff.

He is going to melt down at some point this season if things go bad.

I don't even think things need to go bad...at least not in the way we traditionally think of "bad" (losing, poor play, etc). Things just have to be different than he expects.

I usually give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to learning and growing. That takes a realization that growth is needed. I think that particular revelation is beyond TO's grasp. Sad, but not nearly as sad as when he is forced to exit the stage in a couple of years.
