OT: The great Pele has passed

He was in a bad condition for years.

RIP GOAT.

Anything I post will be insufficient, so let me just leave it at this:

Rest In Peace, oh great one, and thank you for the beautiful memories.
Yep, hit me personally as well. Dad passed away two years ago and he really liked this movie below. Memories flowing in galore.

Saw him play at the Yale Bowl in 1977.

Against the Connecticut Bicentennials to a packed house. Beckenbauer, Chinaglia, Pele. They lost to a team that had a long haired wiry American winger who was born in Spain. Santiago Formosa. Kid had hair down to his butt.

We should have at least a little video...

He was an even better man ...
Watching him play ... mesmerizing.
My daughter won a shootout competition in New Jersey.
Her trophy cradled a soccer ball signed by Pele ... we had no idea until she received it.

RIP Pele the transcendent, we shall not see his like again.
He remains the Mt Rushmore of the World Cup. The rest of the greats are mere foothills in comparison.
