OT: Steelers want to keep the mud

I disagree, the player who injured him had much less ability to avoid Ricky than he would have on a clean field. Not to mention, the fumble was partially due to the conditions. If they had played the game on Fieldturf then most likely Ricky plays the Jets this week.

Wrong: Ricky fumbled and there was no where else for Timmons foot to push off from and into that direction. It had nothing to do with field conditions...at all.

IMO it looked like timmons could have avoided stepping on Ricky, even if it wasn't avoidable, it looked like he purposely "dug" in to Ricky's shoulder. That is unacceptable behavior and I think he deserves to be fined. On to the field issues, I personally wouldn't mind switching to field turf because I think that speedy guys like Willie parker and santonio holmes benefit from the better footing. On the other hand, I think that it does give the steelers more of a home field advantage. My take on it is that keeping the natural surface is fine, but 5 games were played on Heinz field that week, 4 high school games and one Pitt Panthers game. Pitt U needs to get their own field, and let this be solely the steeler's field, with the exception of the occasional HS playoff game.

Steve you turn-coat. Does Timmons strike you as the malicious type? I think he was just trying to make a play and get to that ball. It was completely unintentional.

No he doesn't strike me as malicious, but it looked like somewhat of an intentional hit, I still like the guy but he did end hash pipe williams season with that step. You may be right though, and I could just be looking into it too much.
