OT:Speculation about the Chargers' Terence Kiel

Kiel was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. The nature of the substance has not been disclosed. I find this case interesting because I wonder if the substance could be steroids/HGH. SD athletes have been linked in the past to the steroid/HGH problem due to their proximity to the Mexican border. Premature speculation, as the substance could turn out to be cocaine, but something to keep an eye on...

I hate to shoot holes in your theory, however, he was arrested on a DEA warrant, and the other Charger was shot by a local cop, so I doubt the two are connected in that way.

However, to support your steroids theory, a bond $150,000 is very low, especially for a drug distribution charge, although it does not say whether it was a secured or unsecured bond (in the federal system, you can be released with just a promise to pay (unsecured) if you don't show back to court, or if your crime is more henious a secured bond, which has to be backed up by property leins or money. Either way a $150,000 bond for a guy who makes twice that in a year, is very low, which might lend creedance to your steriods theory.
