OT: Sox fire Cora!

Breslow is part of the problem. Yes, he’s been handicapped by Henry financially but his leadership and communication skills with the coaches and players has been atrocious.

Henry and FSG deserve the lion’s share of the blame for the **** show. With the potential for a lockout in 2027, ownership has decided to become ultra conservative with spending, operating like a small market team in a major baseball market. As long as people keep filling the stands, buying merch and taking Fenway tours, FSG feels zero pressure to change.

My hope is the team loses 100 games, ownership sees a negative impact financially, and people continue the chants to sell the team. Nothing will change until fans have had enough and force a change.
What did you want them to do? Everyone that they wanted them to sign sucks this year. Period.

Again Tibbs for May should have gotten Bres fired. Other than that I don't see what they could have done.

he invented a new way of cheating and brought bad juju to the area. nice guy and the players liked him but he had to go. i think he wants to be a gm so not sure his hearts into riding with young guys and building from within. probably more of a veteran and free agent mgr/gm style.

Cora's greatest virtue, one hears, is his "patience," an inclination - and insistence - that his role is to reassure his cherished veterans that they would revert at some point to their glorious means if only both they and Cora have the patience to do absolutely nothing. He has no use for newer players presumably because they have no established mean to which to revert. Ridiculous.

In practice, then, this cardinal virtue - patience - is just a euphemism for a persistent determination to do absolutely nothing. The only reason this sort of nonsense can fly at all is because in all honesty baseball managers \, even when they are exemplary, have vanishingly little impact on a team's success. They mostly just stand around, chewing their various cuds, sort of just acting...managerial. This happens, as we all know, in other businesses as well. We have all known such paragons in our own working lives, certainly.
