I don't think we really disagree on what you're saying. I just think you were ignoring the WR3 problem when you noted a potential increase in 2TE formations, since the WR3 position would still have been an issue.

The reported coming signing of Torry Holt, coming even before the draft, would seem to buttress my position.

Maybe I wasn't exactly clear with my posting, but I knew we had a hole at 3 WR. Before the Holt signing, the vet competing with the young guys was Patten (as I noted) for the 3 WR. There's no way Patten makes this team now.

I actually think we're saying the same thing. I'm just of the opinion that (1) Bill will draft a TE early and (2) we'll see more multiple TE formations.

The Patriots are reportedly going to sign Torry Holt. Apparently Belichick doesn't agree with you when it comes to the WR3 position, either.

I was pretty much done with this argument but this brought me back in.

I wasn't saying there wasn't room for improvement and I wasn't saying there wasn't a hole in depth I was saying that people were way overstating the need here with all the biatching that we didn't go after Boldin or Marshall.

The Signing of Holt would fall in line with exactly what I was arguing so apparently BB does agree with me. With a healthy Welker would you really expect the 80 catches that you claim WR3 gave us in 07 out of Holt this year?
