OT: Sanchez ripped off by Ponzi scheme

There have been a lot of very smart people destroyed by a ponzi scheme.

I remember Kraft admitting that Madoff's BS scheme looked very interesting but he said in the end his people told him that they had other investment opportunities that were more attractive.

Sanchez is not one of them. Hes in the "dumb people got duped" catagory

Didn't read it but, was it about the New Jersey Jets franchise pretending to be a contender? I mean "Woody Johnson?" C'mon Mark it was too obvious.

Why couldn't it have been Roger Goodell instead? Would have been perfect....

Not according to this article. He was duped by a investor, who even had decent credentials. He didn't do anything too different than a common, rich Joe would do.

I don't know why the poisonous words here so far, i feel bad for the guy. Hopefully he get his money back

Yes. Being duped could have happened to me or you but that does not change the fact that Sanchez is still dumb.

I feel bad for the guy. he didn't really steal from the Jets, they were just too stupid to give him the contract and who was he to say no .

Anyhow, people who take something from others, especially high value items are worse than lawyers in my book. Perhaps some day, they'll do the whole escape from NY thing and make them less of a burden on society .

No person on the face of the planet would turn down a million dollar contract to be **** at their job.

There are a few people with such integrity, but apparently you are not one of them.

and I wouldn't be either .

Didn't sound like it was a classic Ponzi scheme. Just a dishonest investment counselor funneling money into his own business instead of the safe investments that he promised.

It's hard to understand why Sanchez, or anyone else, would go this route when there are many safe investments, like index funds, that tract the market. When you are as rich as star athletes, protecting your capital, rather than making a killing, should be your chief concern.

Because that **** doesn't need to invest. He makes more money than any other **** in the world, comparing production. (OK, maybe not, but) . How can the league justify that salary? Shady, shady, shady. What a joke. And these clowns laugh at us, paying anything they ask, to watch. What a conflicting mess I'm in. I love the team from BB down. Up?, not so much... . I will say this. I haven't watched NFLN or BSPN in about 9 mos. ... OK, rant off....

. for now

You got that right, Brother. Hell, I'd be **** at my Job for half of that.

Wait. I am **** at my Job for half of that. Or a bit less.

He stole that money from the Jets, now someone's stealing it from him. Circle of life.
Nobody put a gun to the Jets head and made them draft him and then sign him to a big deal, Sanchez didn't deserve to get ripped off just because he used to play for the jets
