Once paid a hooker with a personal check, which caused quite the scandal and ended his political career. It either meant he was a moron, or he was possessed with a healthy dose of Don't-Give-a-****. I think it was more the latter. Much respect for that.

My grandmother was an immigrant. When I was a teenager in the 70s she and her friends watched a lot of soap operas and thought that's actually how young Americans lived their lives. I think it's fair to say that put a few odd expectations onto me and her other grandchildren. She ended her days after watching a few years of Jerry Springer. I'd say she learned a lot more from Jerry's show than from the soap operas.
