based on what the team has been saying? yes.

He should have hired Rich Bisaccia (sp?) after they fired Gruden, but he made the mistake of tapping Josh McDaniels, who just cant help but **** up the apple cart by thinking he can one up the quarterback before getting the lay of the land... did it in denver, did it again in LV... that type of move always puts the players on edge... If the qb isn't safe, who is?

Considering that not long ago the Raiders had a solid interim coach that the players loved after Gruden flopped and then let him go so they could hire a sexy name, now they are in a similar situation. They probably need to at least try this

Coughlin's someone he obviously trusts a lot, and in an advisory role - I think it's an excellent move.

It is probably right choice, particularly given the strong support of the current players. They seemed energized under his leadership and the operation was more functional. Having said that, the jury is still out on him and whether this will be a successful choice. The team was 5-4 with him as their head coach, not 7-2, and playing hard for a coach only gets a team so far.
