Say it’s Bucs vs Steelers in SB 55

Any Pats fans who don’t cheer for Brady there should have their Pats fanship revoked immediately. No explanation necessary.

Im ok with anyone winning this years SB except Steelers and Chiefs for obvious reasons. Problem is, theyre probably the 2 best teams in the league.

What exactly is a NE-Tompa fan? A bandwagoner?
A player fan. Flutie was my 1st favorite and I followed him from CFL to NFL to NE. When Brady retires, I'm going to follow football less and when my other favorites are gone like BB, Edelman, Hightower even less. I hate many of the rule changes and how refs can determine who wins a game. The 2007 NE offense was special, but now there are 5 of those every year. TB defense sort of sucks but for 2020 it is a top 10 D maybe still a top 5.

I grew up in the CT area. you realize that the Pats represent a whole region, right?

Again, this is irrelevant to the fact that there are people on this forum rooting for two NFL teams (which I take it you are one of them). What happened if Brady signed with the Bills, Dolphins, or Jets or another AFC team?
Oh no you're from CT? Why did you have to tell people that.

Agreed. Were Divine Intervention to occur and Pats in the SB then no, otherwise yes. I would add St Aaron to the "Do not want to win SB" list.
I'd like my man Wilson to win the SB sans Pats, but it's unlikely.
Will be amusing if none of the favs win. Remember, any playoff week a critically needed superstar could get COVIDed out.
We may have to endure mediot premature ejaculation of GOATness for Mahomes if Chiefs win a ring in Feb.
Not that I don't think Mahomes is a great QB, but it would be WAY too soon for the GOAT crown.

I am willing to give Belichick some time to rebuild. Brady has the upper hand since he chose a talented team like Tampa and can be successful there right away.
Honestly considering the talent they have including Brady....this has been underwhelming year thus far....their OL is the biggest issue followed by inconsistent D....they will make playoffs but don’t see them winning SB

They are a dangerous team that's still building their chemistry. They're only going to get better. Don't know if they'll make it to the super bowl because there are a few other good teams that will get better as well but Tampa is definitely in the mix.

To me it was always a stupid argument. The fact is, the QB position impacts winning far more than the head coaching position. Players win the games and QB is by far the most important position. Even belichick is on record saying this. I don't care how great of a coach you are you need a good/great QB if you're going to win in this league... And don't waste your time listing rare exceptions. They are exceptions, not the rule.

Brady was always the number one reason for the pats success. If you told me I had the choice to build a team and I could either have a great QB and decent coach or great coach and decent QB I'd pick the great QB 100 times out of 100. That's not to say the head coaching position isn't very important too, it's just that the QB is alot more important to a teams success.
And the market value determines this too.

Best QB in business? $35m per year.

Best HC in business? $8m per year.

What’s there to debate? If BB was more important than a good QB he would be getting paid accordingly.

If Trippin Tomlin got COVIDed out, it might actually increase the chances of a Sqealers victory.

I'd also add the following teams to my own no win list;
Baltimore and Indy for instigating defamegate.
Denver because I just don't like them.
The Raiduhs for being crybaby Tuckheads and for the 25 year curse I put on them in 2001.
Miami because of Don Shula, the original Asterjerk.
Cincy, Houston, the Chargers, Jags and Jete don't have a chance anyway.
I'd be pulling for the Pats, Titans, Browns and Bills to win the SB, in that order.

The only NFC team that I'd pull for would be the Bucs. Screw the rest of them.

I think using this year as a marker is dumb. Brady is on one of the most talented teams. and Bill is coaching one of the least talented teams. Im sure if you give bill a talented roster and a competent QB he will win games in the league.

They both were important to the patriots success

They are 6-3 and still on track for A 10-6 or 11-5 season. This is Bucs not the Patriots. Just making the playoffs for the Bucs is a success.
Also, I hope they learned their lesson and play more Brady/Patriot style offense with the occasional deep shot. And less of the BA offense.

Players are more important than coaches. The reason Tom and Bill worked so well together was because Brady, in spite of his greatness, was willing to leave his ego at the door. Many top QB's might not have been as willing to do that at that time.

Maybe we can agree the "team" is the most important - the collective energy and attitude? In 2001 and 2018 the Pats did not have the most talented players, but the best team. The GM and coaches put the team together, and the players make up the team. I am not sure how to chose which is more important, putting the team together on and off the field, or the team members. We have some years where the team building and execution appeared more important, and some years where individual players appeared more important.
